Practice Manager - Multispecialty - Westchester Medical Group

Responsibilities will include:
Manages department/practice activities and staff to ensure effective operations in accordance with established NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group (NYPMG) procedures. Assures that practice registration, scheduling, visit closing, billing/collection and clinical information processes and systems are functioning effectively and on a timely basis. Maintains practice standards and adheres to quality goals and other performance criteria. Develops effective teamwork and communication among staff, assures appropriate levels of cross training and multi-tasking, and maintains high levels of staff participation. Recommends personnel actions, including hiring and firing, and prepares written performance evaluations. Establishes baseline standards for meeting performance goals, and monitors and maintains work performance quality standards. May assign and/or schedule work, conducts on-the-job training and answer job-related questions. Interprets and implements departmental/practice policies and procedures. Manages day-to-day operations to ensure effective delivery of department/practice services. Acts as liaison between department/practice manager and staff. Establishes mechanisms for monitoring policy and procedure compliance. Responsible for conducting on-going meetings with entire staff.
Works closely with Practice Director(s)to ensure consistent standards of patient care coordination and identify best practices. Contributes to the implementation of programs to improve the quality of departmental/practice services. Maintains safety standards to ensure maximum protection for patients and staff. Attends and participates in departmental/practice meetings, as needed.
Assists in the development and implementation of approved systems to provide cost-effective management of departmental/practice activities (i.e., information retrieval, scheduling, and productivity). May retrieve data using department/practice computer system, check output for accuracy and completeness and maintains on-line system support. Makes appropriate recommendations to department/practice Manager to improve systems and department/practice operations. Ensures timely and accurate flow of information to staff and senior management. Also maintains effective communication with other hospital employees in related departments/practices, when necessary to ensure efficient departmental/practices operations. May coordinate department/practice activities with patient care and other services. Responds to department/practice related inquiries, address problems, take corrective action and refer unresolved matters to department/practice Manager or appropriate others as necessary. Determines work schedules, including holiday and vacation time. May coordinate activities, tools, etc. with other departments/practices and service groups, as necessary. Collects information related to department/practice operations and assist in the preparation of summaries and reports as required. May gather data to aid in the creation of the departmental/practice budget.
Performs all duties inherent to managerial role. Participates in hiring, training, evaluation and termination of assigned staff according to NYPMG policies and procedures.
Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.
Preferred Criteria:
Experienced Manager with experience in multiple specialties.
Bachelor’s Degree
Required Criteria:
Associate’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
5+ years’ work experience.
