Job Description:

Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for a SeniorGameplay Engineer to join the development of a new IP.  

 

Feed your creativity while collaborating with our team of highly-skilled developers to build something innovative, exhilarating, and expansively entertaining!   
   
As a member of the Engineering department, you’ll work closely with content teams to push our gameplay systems to new heights of fun and visual fidelity, creating new systems and leverage existing ones to realize AAA-quality gameplay. 

 

You’ll help take the studio and our game from great to even better—with a focus on inclusivity, mutual respect (for ourselves and our players), thoughtfulness, empathy, professionalism, and collaboration.   

 

You’ll help us by…  

  • Design, write, debug and refine gameplay systems, features, tools and infrastructure. 

  • Work with designers and other engineers to prototype, develop, and refine features. 

  • Create complex software systems that usher in the next generation of award-winning game development 

  • Architect, design, implement, debug, optimize and test these systems in C++ and other languages 

  • Discover or invent leading edge game industry technologies, practices, tools and systems. Continually raise the bar. 

You’re awesome because you have…  

  • 3+ years of experience in the game industry or other relevant experience 

  • Strong object-oriented design and knowledge of C/C++ 

  • Experience with multiplatform development (Xbox, PlayStation, PC) 

  • Proficiency in two or more game development technologies such as performance and optimization, graphics, 3D math, physics, collision detection, vehicles, 3C or AI 

  • The ability to collaborate and thrive as part of a creative team 

  • Creativity in problem solving and a positive, respectful team-first attitude 

  • Organization methods and the capability to meet deadlines 

  • Comfort with self-critique and accepting outside feedback 

  • A habit of regularly playing and understanding modern video games

Bonus Points for... 

  • Modern animation techniques and blend trees. 

  • Networked game logic. 

  • Rigid body kinematics. 

  • Extending an established code base. 

  • Enjoyment of playing a variety of video game genres and titles
