The Banking, Insurance and Capital Markets practice works with financial industry leaders, including banks, life insurance companies, hedge funds, and nonbank financial institutions. This position will be responsible for:

  • Strategy and Transformation leadership and execution of client engagements at the intersection of Banking & Financial Services and Technology
  • Leveraging your expertise in Digital and Core Banking Modernization including solution development and sales support
  • Supporting the sale of and leading the delivery of large-scale cloud-based technology modernization programs
  • New business development and sales preferably at top tier Banks, Card, and Payments companies
  • Client relationship management
  • Leadership, mentoring and growth of junior members of the Banking, Insurance and Capital Markets team, including recruitment
  • Thought leadership/knowledge capital development

This Director will join an existing team applying deep industry expertise in the following service areas:

  • Cloud
  • Core System Modernization
  • Low code / no code platforms
  • Data management
  • Operational strategy and effectiveness
  • Managed services

What You Will Need:

You will leverage your expertise in Digital Transformation, Core Banking Modernization and Banking platforms to sell and deliver value to Banking and Capital Markets clients. You will need a solid and diverse management consulting and client service background, as well as a proven track record of successful delivery. This person must incorporate outstanding leadership and people management skills, financial services industry expertise, consulting project and business management, technology delivery, and general business skills. The right person will have the ability to be hands-on in a business development role and in the delivery of client engagements.


To be successful in this Director role at Guidehouse, you will need to be sales savvy, capable of business development, and have the substance knowledge required to add value on projects and lead project teams. The incoming director will have:

  • 12+ years of related experience, including a minimum of 3+ years successful years in consulting, including selling and managing projects
  • Relevant experience in several of the following technology areas: core banking system strategy, IT transformations, systems review and assessment, core banking vendor assessment, target operating model for a lean digital core, core system architecture, deconstructing the core, journey of core to cloud and understanding of peripheral systems
  • Exposure to core banking vendor assessment, implementation, core modernization or core deconstruction projects for local, regional, or global banks
  • Expert in Digital Banking inclusive of: Core Banking and Legacy Platform Modernization to Cloud Native Architectures, Domain Driven Design and Business Architecture and IT Portfolio/ Financial Management
  • 5+ years driving modernization through cloud technologies within large banks
  • Proven ability to successfully lead large, complex client service delivery teams that deliver the highest quality technology engagement work to timeline, scope, and budget at sizes of $3M+
  • 10+ years of financial services experience in a consultant and/or industry leadership role
  • Demonstrated strong network of potential sales targets and proven history of consulting engagement sales and delivery year over year
  • Able to drive culture and energize a new business direction by developing proficiencies in leveraging disruptive technology in Banking and Financial Services, providing innovative approaches in strategy and execution offering differentiating value to clients
  • Flexibility with respect to travel up to 50%
  • Bachelor’s degree

The annual salary range for this position is $190,900.00-$286,300.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
