We are now looking for a Manager for Market Data Management to come and join us in Edinburgh, you will report to our Head of Market Data Management and work as part of a small team who support each other and help develop one another.

This is a role where you will look after the procurement of information services and market data from 3rd party vendors and manage supplier relationships with these vendors, including the use of scorecards, KPIs and suchlike. You will also look at the development and delivery of the market data third party strategy, in conjunction with key stakeholders and determine solutions based on a deep understanding of the demand. This is also a role where you will look after the financial management of the overall Information Services budget for Aegon Asset Management including:

  • Procuring and renewing Market Data services required by the business in most cost-effective manner.
  • Developing sourcing strategies and category plans.
  • Driving cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure data/service usage and pricing is accurately recorded.
  • Maintain an audit trail for all contracts and commercial agreements.
  • Ensure commercial terms are accurately recorded on the Contract Management System.
  • Manage relationships with market data providers, ensuring service quality and adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Conduct regular vendor service reviews including use of a clear vendor scorecard methodology.
  • Actively supervise actual system usage to ensure value is acquired and to feed into renewal discussions and regular service reviews.
  • Acting as the primary contact across the AAM business for services provided by the vendors within their remit.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand market data needs and deliver appropriate solutions.
  • Identify initiatives which enhance our Investment Toolkit, then deliver on these - taking on Project Management or SME responsibilities.
  • Ensuring that the acquisition and use of market data comply with all relevant regulatory requirements.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:  

  • Experience within a similar procurement role.
  • Strong negotiation, Vendor (supplier) management and budget management skills.
  • Experience working with legal and commercial aspects of vendor licenses.
  • Understanding of financial instruments and international exchanges.
  • Positive communication/ facilitation skills.
  • Index data knowledge – either on the commercial front or working within index data teams is advantageous, however not essential.
