We are looking for a dynamic and technically strong Sector Lead to join the IT Application Management CH department in Zurich. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping and extending the platform provisioning and line management of 3 teams that deliver IT services utilizing both self-developed applications (.Net and Java) and global platforms (Business Process Management, Business Rules, Content Management). You will work closely with business and IT stakeholders to provide sustainable solutions and fulfil mandated and strategic goals.Actively promote the COO core values Trust, Ambition, Collaboration and Courage and purpose of Julius Baer to ensure appropriate, ethical and compliant behavior and act as a role model
Contribute to the Technology Strategy of the IT Division in all its building and ensure alignment with the bank’s strategic direction and Governance. This especially with driving the technical transformation roadmap to evolve today’s platforms toward a global TOM, aligning architecture, processes, platform lifecycle and workforce distribution
Leading 3 teams to proactively steer and continuously improve technical platforms like RPA (Robotics), Business Process Management, Content Management, Business Rules over various banking domains and deliver as well as operate business applications running on these platforms
Establish and develop technical delivery teams across different locations, building a global engineering culture and cross-site collaboration model for a modern, innovative and efficient platform strategy
Act as the key technical counterpart to Architecture and a strategic partner to our business stakeholders to ensure coherent design decisions and platform evolution
Budgeting and cost management of Operations including Vendor and License Management as well as leveraging near-shoring opportunities and drive for cost-efficiency
Ensure high-quality technical delivery with strong engineering culture and modern development practices to deliver projects and small IT orders
Oversee effective risk management and resolution of architecture or governance exceptions. Avoiding and tracking of architectural debts, risk mitigation measures, vulnerabilities, PenTest findings and other exceptions
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
Demonstrated ability and experience in leading leaders within the IT domain, effective leadership to employees including performance management and people development and fostering leadership talent
A visionary mind-set to shape and implement strategic initiatives aligned to the organizational goals
Proven technical leadership in platform engineering, platform modernization or Target Operating Model transformations
Strongly decisive and result-oriented person with effective and efficient working style also under high pressure
Deep hands-on understanding of modern platform technologies (with the maturity being e.g. .Net, Java, Automation Platforms, Business Process Management, Content Management), cloud-native principles and engineering best practices
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business‑aligned strategies
Ability to work in an agile manner and adapt to new situation, ability to motivate others and to work across teams and cultures
