About the Role
This Human Resources (HR) Generalist position provides dedicated, on-site HR advisory support to managers and employees at the Shanghai office. This position is an integral part of the Group Office (GO) HR team
The incumbent will work closely with another on-site HR team member to deliver a full spectrum of HR services. Responsibilities include supporting managers on HR-related matters, responding to employee queries on HR policies and programs, and managing employee relations issues
This role will serve as the primary HR contact for the Shanghai office, acting as the main point of support for managers based there. In addition, the role is required to collaborate with Regional and GO HR Business Partners (HRBP), the GO People Advisory (PA) team and GO Centers of Excellence (COEs), including Talent Acquisition and Performance & Rewards, to implement HR initiatives and ensure smooth execution of programs and processes
Finally, the incumbent will provide timely feedback and insights on local employment regulations and market practices to help maintain the alignment and relevance of the Company’s HR initiatives
HR Business Partner (~25%)
- Provide advisory support to managers and employees on people matters, ensuring compliance with labor laws and internal policies
- Work closely with the Regional & GO HRBP in annual processes such as budgeting and year-end performance review exercise etc.
- Serve as a business partner to people managers to support organisation effectiveness by implementing solutions aligned to the overall people strategy
- Support local managers in driving employee engagement activities
Talent Acquisition (TA) (~25%)
- Take ownership of designing and supporting the implementation of the recruitment and onboarding plan for the ED Shanghai office
- Collaborate with GO TA team to drive hiring activities, resolve hiring challenges
- Provide support in resolving pending employment background check cases which require follow-up
- Facilitate the onboarding process together with the designated PA and GO HRBP
Performance & Rewards (P&R), including mobility (25%)
- Liaise with GO P&R to operationalize compensation and benefits related policies and programs, ensuring clarity in implementation
- Liaison for GO HRBP and GO P&R team in handling mobility and transfer cases within China or outside of China
- Scope of activities include salary proposal, STI & LTI computation, payroll and tax reporting
- Assist with offline review of assignment letter upon HRBP/RBP's request and forward the letter to designated PA
- Work with preferred supplier (Santa Fe) to initiate on work visa renewal before expiry
People Advisory (PA) (~15%)
- Serve as the escalation point for employee inquiries
- Provide guidance and insights on local labor laws and regulatory requirements
- Advise on necessary adaptations to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and organizational standards
- Provide backup support for onboarding, payroll, tax, benefits and ESPP processes to ensure seamless execution
Employee Relations (ER) (~10%)
- Work with GO HRBP to manage ER-related issues proactively and take preventive action to address potential challenges
- Support managers to effectively handle ER matters while ensuring compliance with local legislation and regulatory requirements
- Implement employee engagement initiatives to support staff well-being
