Aviva is looking for Underwriters to join a new team based in Poland. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys assessing risk, making sound underwriting decisions, and delivering excellent outcomes for customers.
What will you be doing?
Assessing and underwriting Life Insurance, Critical Illness and Income Protection applications in the UK market, including medical and nonmedical risk, in line with Aviva’s underwriting philosophy, standards, and delegated authority.
Delivering accurate, consistent and customer-focused decisions, ensuring a high-quality experience throughout the underwriting process.
Communicating via email and phone, clearly and professionally, with advisers, customers, internal stakeholders and UK underwriting colleagues to explain underwriting requirements and decisions.
Escalating cases appropriately where authority limits are exceeded or additional expertise is required.
Completing Post Issue Sampling of medical reports on previously auto-accepted cases, to ensure accurate outcomes.
Contributing to continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to improve processes, quality, and customer experience.
Ensuring all underwriting activity is compliant with regulatory requirements, data protection standards, and Aviva policies.
What we’re looking for?
Underwriting experience in Life Insurance, Critical Illness, and/or Income Protection, preferably in all 3 areas.
Solid capability to assess risk accurately and consistently within authority, including appropriate escalations and quality checks to ensure sound underwriting decisions.
Proficiency in English.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to explain underwriting requirements and decisions clearly to advisers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
High level of attention to detail, analytical thinking, and accountability in decision-making.
A mindset geared toward continuous improvement, with the ability to identify opportunities to enhance processes, quality, or customer experience.
Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, data protection standards, and internal policies.
