Workday Specialist - Compensation & Benefits (Alajuela, Costa Rica)

As a Workday Specialist – Compensation & Benefits, you will provide day‑to‑day support for our HR technology and Compensation & Benefits processes. Acting as a first point of contact for employees and managers, you’ll deliver exceptional customer service, resolve HR inquiries, and guide users through Workday. You will review and approve process notifications, generate documentation, and troubleshoot system issues while ensuring accuracy and compliance. In this role, you will also support testing, data management, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance our HR technology experience.

What will you be doing?

  • Support and maintain Workday Core and Advanced Compensation, and Benefits functionality based on company needs.

  • Monitor, Troubleshoot, and respond to critical technical issues within the Compensation and Benefits space.

  • Administrative and system support on all HR Cycles relevant to Compensation & Benefits.

  • Point of contact for our customer base for HR Technology queries relating to compensation and benefits.

  • Provide support to our customer base on all core processes provided by HR Services.

  • Caseload management, responding to HR Compensation and Benefits queries within agreed SLAs and in line with the processes of the Global Business Services function.

  • Escalate tasks to Reward Product Owner as appropriate. 

  • Produce relevant paperwork in line with agreed processes and timelines.

  • Be a relevant stakeholder in the relationship with the Reward Centre of Excellence (COE).

What will you need to be successful?

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

  • Strong English communication skills (written and verbal) required to interact effectively in a global environment.

  • Functional knowledge of Workday Core and Advanced Compensation.

  • Functional knowledge of Workday Benefits.

  • Basic understanding of Workday integration technologies.

  • Experience with pay review processes in global organisations.

  • Experience with benefit open enrollment processes.

  • Understanding of HR technology vendors and multi market implementations.

  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and global HR processes.

  • Strong prioritisation and workload management capabilities with experience delivering service improvements.
