Under the direction and supervision of the Call Center Operations Manager, the Scheduling Center Representative is responsible for providing an exceptional “Patient First” experience for the patients we serve. This critical role creates the first impression of our PPG practices. This caregiver is responsible for handling all of the patient’s scheduling needs, with minimal hand-offs to provide a “one-stop-shop" experience. This caregiver assists with scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and referral assistance. This caregiver works with minimum supervision and acts as an expert in patient communications, understanding the medical terminology needed to properly align the patient with the most appropriate provider.

A caregiver in this role works Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. -- 5 p.m. This position is open to remote work after 90 days. 

  

A caregiver who excels in this role, will: 

  • Provide outstanding customer service to patients, including communicating scheduling information, special instructions and directions. 

  • Successfully complete all required new agent training provided by Cleveland Clinic and Akron General partners. 

  • Meet or exceed the quality, production and schedule adherence standards for the department on a consistent basis. 

  • Apply scheduling protocols and departmental policies to determine appointment type and urgency for practices and institutes. 

  • Validate and capture insurance coverage. Align correct insurance coverage with type of service provided. 

  • Monitor combined registration reports, AHIQA. Identify patients in need of financial clearance and submit referrals. 

  

Minimum qualifications for the ideal caregiver include: 

  • Bachelor’s degree 

  • OR three years of experience in a high-touch customer service role 

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel 

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Exceptional customer service skills 

  

Preferred qualifications for the ideal caregiver include: 

  • Proven ability to step outside comfort level, adapt to new challenges and assist teammates 

  • Ability to work effectively in both a team environment and independently

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to work in a Call Center environment sitting, data entry, and using a headset.
