We are looking for a Senior FSQRA Specialist (Contract Manufacturing) to join our team remotely or in Omaha, Nebraska!

This position will ideally be located in Omaha, Nebraska but there is flexibility for remote candidates as well. This role will require up to 70% travel as needed to sites across the U.S. by car and commercial flights.

As the Senior Food Safety Quality & Regulatory Affairs Specialist, you will independently implement programs within the Contract Manufacturing functional area of the Enterprise Quality group. You will support the Contract Manufacturing Platform Quality Manager in the implementation of relevant QA processes and procedures in the Contract Manufacturing Quality group. You will have responsibility for the supervision and direction of other professional employees without direct reporting responsibility to the position. You will own the quality relationship between Conagra Brands and the contract manufacturer’s quality group.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Independently gathers and analyzes data to understand trends and issues and make decisions related to product safety and quality.

  • Supervises and executes activities related to reviewing, monitoring and assessing the integrity of a contract manufacturer’s adherence to our Food safety and quality expectations.

  • Contributes and sometimes leads cross functional teams to assure effective implementation of QA initiatives, adherence to policies and procedures related to food safety and quality.

  • Cultivates a culture of continuous process improvement at our contract manufacturers.

  • Develops and maintains relationships with management at Contract Manufacturing facilities in order to drive continuous improvement efforts.

  • Functions at an autonomous level with minimal supervision.

  • Leads implementation of processes and procedures within assigned area(s) of responsibility.

  • Directs day to day activities within assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Contributes to the designs of department processes and procedures.

  • Serves as a technical leader to others in the organization.

  • Develops metrics to measure effectiveness/progress in assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Provides technical and decision-making support and data in managing situations and issues relative to quality and/or food safety as necessary.

  • Interfaces with and provides technical support to appropriate functions and employees to assure regulatory compliance, food safety and quality.

  • Champions a positive food safety culture, takes ownership, and empowers others to take immediate action on matters concerning food safety.

Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required with minimum of 9 years' relevant experience OR Bachelors Degree (Food, Biological or Chemical Science or related field preferred) with minimum of 5 years relevant experience.

  • Food industry experience in QA, Operations or equivalent function required.

  • Extensive knowledge of food safety, food manufacturing processes, technologies or other relevant area of responsibility.

  • Experience in using continuous improvement tools and fundamentals.

  • Relevant experience with government regulatory requirements in food processing.

  • Great interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Demonstrated commitment to the highest standards of professionalism and personal integrity.

  • Ability to travel 70% of the time. Must be able to travel independently and as a responsible Conagra Brands representative.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting for up to 8 hours a day

  • Walking/Standing on various plant surfaces for up to 8 hours a day

  • Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders on a regular basis

  • Pushing/pulling various plant materials and/or equipment

  • Inspect cramped/confined spaces

  • Exposure to manufacturing environments for up to 8 hours per workday including loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells and allergens.

  • Food/eating while evaluating Conagra Brands products

  • Frequent bending and/or crawling; must be able to move safely and freely around machinery

  • Driving a company or rental vehicle for up to 8 hours as needed

  • Lifting up to 40 lbs on occasion

We require applicants for this role to be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship either now or in the future.

Compensation:

Annual Base Salary: $79,000.00 - $115,000.00

The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
