Working Hours/Shift:

8 Hour AM Shift (Monday - Friday)

What you bring to SBHG:

  • Valid California Driver's License

  • Two (2) years’ experience working in the Mental Health Field; OR

  • Sixty (60) semester hours of college course work in child development, psychology or a related field

  • Ability to work effectively with clients and caregivers from diverse cultural backgrounds

  • Knowledge of Community Resources, especially related to the Mental Health field, is highly desirable to make appropriate linkages

How you will make a difference:

This position has primary responsibility for mental health services and case management services to children, adolescents. adults and their families. The Mental Health Specialist provides mental health services including engagement, assessment and evaluation, and other services to clients referred to the Community Services Program.  Acts as liaison with external agencies and functions on teams with other clinical & support staff.  Documents and bills for mental health and case management services and completes outcomes information.

Division/Program Overview

  • Centers provide outpatient mental health services to children and their families.

  • Working with children of all ages, at home, at school and in the community 

Services include:

  • Individual therapy

  • Group therapy

  • Family counseling

  • Case management

  • Rehabilitative/Skill building services

  • Medication management and support
