Job Responsibilities:  

  • Conduct rapid and accurate patient assessments, obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and identifying urgent medical needs. 

  • Administer basic medical procedures such as wound care, splinting, blood draws, and assisting with minor medical treatments under the direction of medical providers. 

  • Administer medications, both oral and injectable, as directed by healthcare providers and in adherence to established protocols. 

  • Provide patients and their families with clear instructions and education on post-care treatments, medications, and follow-up care, ensuring their understanding of the provided information. 

  • Assist healthcare providers during examinations, treatments, and medical procedures as needed, maintaining a sterile and organized environment. 

  • Observe and monitor patients' conditions, noting any changes and reporting them to the healthcare team promptly. 

  • Collaborate with medical providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and coordinated patient care delivery. 

  • Greet patients, verify their identities, and collect necessary personal and insurance information for registration. 

  • Accurately enter patient information into the EMR system, ensuring completeness and confidentiality of patient records. 

  • Verify patient insurance coverage and collect necessary copayments or payments for services rendered. 

  • Assist patients in scheduling follow-up appointments, diagnostic tests, or consultations as directed by healthcare providers. 

  • Handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and provide necessary information to callers or route them to appropriate departments within the facility. 

  • Ensure medical supplies and equipment are well-stocked and ready for use, and request replenishment as needed. 

  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Minimum Experience: 

  • 2+ years of Paramedic experience 

  • Previous experience as a medical assistant or in an urgent care setting is preferred. 

  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer skills. 

  • Strong knowledge of emergency medical procedures, techniques, and protocols. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals effectively. 

  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in patient documentation and registration processes. 

  • Ability to identify equipment problems and correcting or notifying team leader 

  • Ability to apply written instructions and standardized work practices 

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients, and families 

  • Able to withstand physical & mental demands: standing, walking, stooping, and bendingRequires ability to move equipment and transfer patients. 

  • Computer knowledge and skills, must be able to register patients on the computer in a timely manner 

  • Up-to-date on injections, and provide documentation, as per OSHA guidelines 

  • Ability to complete and maintain CPR certification 

  • Excellent listening and note-taking skills 

  • Ability to apply written instructions and standardize work practices 

  • Basic computer skills, including the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) 

  • Demonstrated ability to type at least 45 words per minute 

  • Strong communication skills, including grammatical, spelling and verbal 

  • Detail-oriented with proven ability to work effectively under conditions requiring accuracy 

  • Capable of working well on a team 

  • Friendly and customer service oriented 

  • Ability to manage high call volume 

 

Education: 

  • High School Degree or equivalent 

 

Required License or Certification: 

  • Current Paramedic certification by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) and state certification in state which you are providing professional services.  

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
