DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a clean work area throughout the shift
  • Rinse down the equipment and the floor during species or spice changes
  • Report all problems found to your supervisor
  • Disassemble, assemble and set up all the lines
  • Check equipment for missing or loose bolts or screws
  • Maintain proper item specs. Notify supervisor of any non-compliance
  • To meet customer and Smithfield product requirements, follow product spec sheets for instructions
  • Accurately fill out all necessary operational paper work
  • Complete Daily Operations check sheet
  • If not running production, perform other work as assigned
  • Re-inspect, re-box, sticker, hand-pack, pre-rinse the lines and metal detect as needed
  • Duties are subject to change when the plant is not fully operational due to mechanical breakdown/supplier shortage and on weekend overtime

Performance expectations

  • Ability to cover all shifts and weekend assignments
  • Must maintain the same performance expectations for the position you are covering
  • Must work as a team and assist others as needed
  • Must be SAP trained
  • Complete pre-operational fork truck/walk behind inspection check sheet daily
  • Must be forklift certified; Safe and efficient use of the forklift and walk behind lift
  • 100% accuracy on all paper work (Data, HACCP forms) is extremely important

SAFETY PROCEDURES AND REQUIREMENTS

  • All designated personal protection equipment must be used
  • Lock-out all designated equipment prior to disassembly
  • Report all safety concerns to Supervisors
  • 100% compliance with Smithfield GMP, SOP and Safety programs and any other company training
  • 100% compliance with ALL RTE employee clean rooms (ECR) procedures

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to bend, sit, stand, stoop, twist
  • Indoor conditions include 40° degrees
