Database Services is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of Enterprise systems, which include CommSee, CommBiz, Payments, Mobile Apps and Netbank. These systems rely on Oracle RDBMS and Microsoft SQL Server and more frequently NoSQL databases.

Database Services is a team of development specialists and PL/SQL & SSIS/TSQL developers who design and implement functional and non-functional enhancements and additions to these systems.

We’re interested in hearing from people who

  • Can design and build critical applications

  • Can mentor other developers in database solutions

  • Can advise business owners on strategic database direction and application solution design

  • Have knowledge of and ability to discuss NoSQL database mechanisms and usage

  • Are confident in project financial considerations and their implications

Tech skills

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;

  • Have recent experience as a database development specialist on Oracle RDBMS 19c or later. Recent experience on Microsoft SQL Server desirable.

  • Advanced PL/SQL development skills. 

  • Advanced tuning skills in a high-volume Oracle enterprise database

  • Excellent Linux and scripting skills

  • Exposure to NoSQL databases

  • Development team management

  • Agile software development
