Excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and hard-working Associate to join one of Europe’s leading direct lending platforms.

Summary of our opportunity

The Associate will join ICG’s Senior Debt Partners (“SDP”) team in London.

SDP specialises in making senior private debt investments in European upper mid-market and large cap companies. This top-performing strategy was launched in 2012, has >€20bn AUM and is currently investing out of its fifth fund.

Primary Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Evaluate potential investment opportunities across a wide range of industries and geographies

  • Assess and present clearly the strengths and weaknesses of a potential investment opportunity

  • Develop dynamic operating models and perform fundamental credit analysis

  • Interact and develop relationships with advisors, management teams and private equity sponsors

  • Monitor existing investments, work on portfolio add-on acquisitions and refinancing transactions

  • Assist with aggregation and analysis of data on portfolio companies for investor reporting purposes

Key Requirements/ Qualifications

You will have demonstrable experience of: 

  • Candidates must possess at least 2 years experience at a top tier fund or investment bank

  • Strong quantitative, credit, financial modelling and analytical skills

  • Strong understanding of financial and accounting valuation methodologies

  • Good understanding of capital structure and credit concepts, including debt covenants, security and ranking

  • Strong communication & presentation skills

  • Solid organisational skills, high attention to detail and ability to prioritise

  • Self-motivation and energy, mature & hard-working approach

  • Self-starter, with confidence in asking questions and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
