Position Summary

As an Associate Data Engineer, you will support end‑to‑end project execution for migrating data platforms, pipelines, and workloads from on‑prem or legacy cloud systems (e.g., Teradata, SAS, Snowflake, Azure, Databricks) into Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

You will partner closely with engineering leads, product owners, and business stakeholders to ensure data migration tasks are well‑planned, tracked, communicated, and delivered with quality. This is an ideal role for someone with strong organizational skills, basic technical understanding of data engineering.

As an Associate Data Engineer, you will be responsible for following –

  • Support planning, scheduling, and tracking of GCP migration activities, including data ingestion, validation, code conversion, and cutover readiness.
  • Assist in maintaining project plans, task lists, dependencies, RAID logs, and dashboards for migration progress.
  • Coordinate sprint ceremonies, action items, and follow‑ups across data engineering, analytics, QA, and cloud infrastructure teams.
  • Help facilitate cross‑team alignment for milestone reviews, cutover windows, and validation checkpoints.
  • Partner with data engineers, architects, solution strategists, and application SMEs to ensure delivery activities are understood and executed.
  • Track progress of migration tasks such as data ingestion, pipeline refactoring, code conversion, tenancy setup, and validation activities.
  • Identify risks related to migration waves (e.g., data integrity, cutover issues, dependency misalignment).
  • Monitor issues and escalate blockers to leadership.
  • Ensure migration activities follow enterprise data security, privacy, and compliance policies.
  • Prepare and deliver concise status updates, dashboards, and communications for leadership and cross‑functional teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements, troubleshoot issues, and ensure seamless data flow and service delivery.
  • Focus on data quality, integrity, and reliability throughout the data lifecycle, implementing best practices for monitoring and validation.
  • Applies in-depth knowledge of scrum processes to identify process improvement opportunities for productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.


Required Qualifications

  • 1–3 years experience in project coordination, project management, or technical program support.
  • Familiarity with cloud concepts (GCP preferred): data migration, BigQuery, service accounts, IAM, pipelines.
  • Understanding of agile delivery practices.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple technical and business teams.
  • Working knowledge of problem solving and decision making skills
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)


Preferred Qualifications

  • GCP and Teradata experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry, IT systems, Networks, Applications is a plus.


Education

  • Bachelor's degree preferred/specialized training/relevant professional qualification.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$61,800.00 - $123,600.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
