OUR PURPOSE

At our Research & Development Department in Medtronic, plc, we focus on the development of best-in-class medical devices, and our engineers are directly involved in the development of innovative products for use in medical procedures. The Senior R&D Program Manager is directly involved in providing high level leadership and direction to a

New Product Development team ensuring the implementation of strategic and tactical Development activities supporting the Peripheral Vascular Health Business Unit.

The Peripheral Vascular Health Business Unit develops a range of transcatheter medical devices and treatment solutions for both the arterial and venous disease, such as Drug Coated Balloons, Stents, Embolization Therapies and Deep Venous treatments.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF:

The Senior R&D Program Manager will have the opportunity to lead highly skilled diverse teams, passionate for success and driven in the pursuit of our mission, to alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life. Some of the aspects you can look forward to are as follows.


•    Be the Core Team Leader on our key new product development projects. The role of a Core team leader is to direct and manage a cross functional team in the execution of a project with tasks including, project scoping, resource and budget planning, risk mitigation and Stakeholder management.
•    Solves issues through information exchange, influence and active persuasion without direct exercise of command to gain cooperation of other parties on program execution plans.
•    Leads, directs and reviews the work of a team, experienced professionals and/or vendors who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments.
•    Manage, motivate and develop team members including vendors to complete an assigned major program or project.
•    Resolve issues and ensure task completion by establishing priorities and reaching compromise with team members and functional managers.
•    Establish program objectives, timelines, milestones, and budget.
•    Responsible for timeline and goal setting to meet overall project objective and design.
•    Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities.
•    Ensure that programs are managed on schedule and within budget.
•    Effectively represent Medtronic externally with our customers.
•    Motivate and develop competent personnel while ensuring staff clearly understand expectations and performance.
•    Foster technical innovation in staff members.
•    Through effective information flow and interaction, develop harmonious working relations with other functions, and ensure employees within R&D have the necessary information and resources to effectively perform their jobs.
•    Role will report to a member of the PVH R&D Leadership Team and support initiatives and / or programs across the PVH operating unit

Must Have: Minimum Requirements: To be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident on your resume.
•    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
•    7 years of relevant experience OR with an advanced degree a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.

Nice to Have/Preferences:
•    Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification from PMI, or equivalent project management.
•    Strong proven track record in program management in a regulated environment.
•    Medical device product development experience required.
•    Technical experience in DOE, Six Sigma, DFM etc.
•    Displays Excellent communication and presentation skills.
•    Competent in Stakeholder management.
•    Experience in working with physicians to identify unmet therapy needs.
•    Flexibility to travel ~10% of time desirable.

In addition to Base Salary, this position is eligible for a short-term incentive plan, which provides the opportunity to earn significant incentive compensation for achieving or exceeding your goals. Learn more about Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP) here.


The provided base salary range is used nationally in the United States (except in Puerto Rico and certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$168,800.00 - $253,200.00

 

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others
