Job Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a high impact, results-oriented role in which the Supplier Quality Engineer leads technical quality execution across Magna Divisional Quality, Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management, Purchasing, and the supply base. The role drives accountability and performance, partnering with Divisional

Quality teams and suppliers to execute and sustain corporate level quality improvements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Directly support and intervene across Magna Exteriors manufacturing divisions as business needs demand.

· Lead and enforce structured problem solving across Magna Exteriors divisions and the supply base.

· Leverage data relentlessly to drive team effectiveness and results under constrained resources.

· Own root cause identification of supplier manufacturing issues and force rapid, sustainable quality containment and resolution.

· Drive and elevate supplier quality performance at the corporate level through accountability and escalation.

· Audit, challenge, and enforce adherence to required manufacturing and quality standards across the supply base.

· Provide decisive oversight and governance for high-risk and critical new program launches.

· Lead turnaround activities with designated problem and focus suppliers, validating corrective actions and effectiveness.

· Take command of “crisis” suppliers through hands-on, on-site engagement, clear communication, and method-based collaborative problem solving.

· Serve as the corporate authority for IATF compliance, including internal audits and procedure governance related to supplier sourcing and top focus management.

· Execute Reverse PFMEAs and floor control plan assessments at supplier sites to expose error-proofing gaps and verify process robustness.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· IATF lead auditor certification is preferred.

· ASQ CQE certification is preferred or is required to be obtained by end of 2027 calendar year

· Five years’ experience in quality, engineering and/or manufacturing.

· Proficient in print reading and interpretation, part measurement, gage design and function.

· Demonstrated knowledge of geometric design and tolerance. (GD&T).

· Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing and assembly plant processes, procedures, tooling, equipment and facilities.

· Demonstrated knowledge of probability, statistical quality control and design of experiments.

· Demonstrated ability to investigate quality problems and to apply sound technical judgment to develop potential solutions.

· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and lead diverse cross-functional teams simultaneously.

· High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others.

· Strong oral, written and presentation skills.

· Ability to travel up to 30% (domestic and international).

· Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Education/Skills/Special Knowledge –

Bachelor's degree is preferred. Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Manufacturing, Welding, Plastics, Materials, Chemical preferred) or an equivalent Technical Degree such as Applied Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics is acceptable. Technical and Quality Certifications are a plus. Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent preferred.

Experience – 8–12 years in Automotive Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or Engineering Five years’ OEM or Tier 1 experience in automotive interior, exterior, body, chassis, electrical or powertrain quality, manufacturing or engineering functions, including demonstrated experience and capability in any of the following areas:

· Lean Manufacturing and or Manufacturing Quality.

· Manufacturing, Process and or Tool Engineering.

· Quality Systems Planning (APQP), including PPAP.

· Statistical Problem Solving (Red X, DFSS, DMAIC).

· Product Engineering

Physical Demands/Work Environment –

Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer. May require local travel.
