We are seeking a talented individual to join our Data Analytics & Insights team at Marsh | a Marsh Business. This role will be based at Mumbai location. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Lead Specialist - Data Analytics & Insights
We will count on you to:
Supporting Whitespace which is a fully digital e-trading platform used by Marsh, owned by Verisk, designed for the insurance and reinsurance market to facilitate the digital offering, negotiation, placement, and binding of contracts through a data-first approach that enhances operational efficiency, transparency, and scalability.
Working collaboratively with the Digital team to support and drive innovative business solutions and growth initiatives.
Develop and maintain front-end applications using Power Apps, ensuring a seamless user experience.
Understand our business model to analyze data and provide actionable insights.
Collaborate with colleagues across various levels to align analyses with business objectives.
Assemble and process large datasets, identifying and implementing internal process improvements.
Gather and model data using Python to support strategic decision-making.
Create visually appealing dashboards using Power BI to effectively communicate insights.
What you need to have:
Minimum 12 months experience as Lead Specialist (D1) / Senior Specialist (C2)
Should have at least “On-Track” or equivalent rating in last appraisal.
Should not be under any Performance Counselling Plan or had any official disciplinary action within the last 3 months.
Should not have applied for any other IJP in the last 3 months.
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science/Statistics/Mathematics/Economics/ Engineering discipline
4 - 6 years of experience in BI and reporting – should have worked on Enterprise-wide reporting systems and built dashboards and reports from the ground up
Hands-on experience through internships or projects in app development using Power Apps.
Familiarity with data analysis and working with large datasets.
Proficiency in SQL and Python for data extraction and manipulation.
Strong data visualization skills with experience in tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik Sense.
Excellent problem-solving, critical-thinking, and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with complex data sets.
Technical Skills:
Data Engineering and Data transformation skills – SQL or Oracle
Data Visualization – Power BI is a must have, tableau or Qlik would be a good to have
Strong exposure to and hands-on experience with Databricks on Azure and AWS cloud platforms, emphasizing data engineering and analytics capabilities.
Ability to optimize data pipelines to perform complex data transformations
People and Team:
Institutionalize the business and domain knowledge gained through Knowledge management principles and techniques
Build technical capability for self and the team starting with AWS data bricks and other cloud technology that will be required to deliver solutions
Soft Skills:
Understanding requirements, excellent communication skills and stakeholder management are crucial skills.
Ability to communicate complex data in a simple and actionable way.
