A Little More About The role:
Gravie is looking for an experienced and effective Lead Platform Engineer to support our application infrastructure as we grow. Our ideal candidate is a highly motivated, goal-oriented, team-focused engineer with a passion for automating systems and infrastructure.
  
You will:
·       Lead the architecture design and implementation of Gravie’s cloud platform to automate and speed software development and operations.
·       Set cloud architecture standards and drive adherence through the development of platform guardrails, opinionated tooling and monitoring solutions.
·       Lead, monitor and report on workload among team of platform engineers.
·       Collaborate with development and testing teams to understand needed features and requirements to inform the platform roadmap.
·       Oversee and enhance our cybersecurity strategies, ensuring the protection of computer systems, networks, and information with innovative security measures.
·       Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning and process improvement.
·       Strategically lead the design and implementation of proactive monitoring systems, ensuring optimal health, performance, and security of our cloud infrastructure.
·       Manage high availability and disaster recovery systems, procedures, and readiness.
·       Ensure the production of comprehensive, high-quality system documentation, setting standards for technical communication within the team.

You bring:
·       Bachelor's degree in technology field or equivalent.
·       Experience leading and mentoring junior engineers
·       Experience with cloud infrastructure definition tools such as AWS CloudFormation/CDK and Terraform.
·       Experience building service delivery pipelines using a CI/CD system such as Jenkins, GitLab, or CodePipeline.
·       Experience with server configuration management software (e.g., Salt, Puppet, Ansible, Chef).
·       Proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Linux based environments.
·       Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measures.
·       Solid Cloud experience in a major public cloud provider (AWS, Google, Azure)
·       Experience with virtualization and containerization.
·       Experience with monitoring systems such as AWS CloudWatch and Datadog.
·       Solid Git and programming/scripting skills (e.g. bash shell scripts, Python, Perl, Ruby, Groovy).
·       Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP).
·       Excellent organization, documentation, and communication skills.
·       Ability to learn new technologies quickly.

The salary range for this position is $116,250 - $193,750 annually. Numerous factors including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. will be considered when determining compensation. Stock options may also be awarded as part of the compensation package.
