We have a fantastic opportunity for a hospital based Veterinary Surgeon to join our Cambridge Milton team. This dynamic and exciting role will include consulting, surgery and hospital days. You will work closely with our existing team, including our OOH team, vet24, to provide around the clock care of an outstanding standard for a primary care practice. We have medicine and ECC certificate holders, and a reputation for excellent diagnostic imaging. We are well equipped to perform routine and ECC surgery, having also established a laparoscopic spay service over the last year or so. We have vets working towards surgery and cardiology certificates and work very much on an evidenced based, continuing learning approach as a team.
Milton is just north of the city of Cambridge and is performing at very high standards of care as well as being well equipped to maintain these high standards. A committed, stable, experienced and highly skilled team of permanent vets and nurses focus on ECC for our 5-site practice, as well as serving around 20 other local practices overnight and at weekends. The case load and capability is outstanding for a primary care practice. This role would find you working closely with this excellent team and provide a supportive and safe environment to develop your area of interest in companion animal medicine and surgery. This fantastic role would suit a veterinary surgeon with a minimum of 2 plus years' experience.
Village Vet Milton is one of the very few practices in Cambridgeshire accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons as a Tier 3 Hospital. Our vets and nurses offer a comprehensive range of ECC veterinary services with a fully dedicated OOH team and a commitment that ‘it’s not out of hours for us’ !
With multiple certificate holders, including 3 x Advanced Practitioner ECC vets, this team boasts career development and will invest in you. Winners of the 2023 team 'Quality' award across the entire Linnaeus estate, this practice is a progressive, exciting, and brilliant place to be.
Rota: 42 hours over 4 routine weekdays, regular routine day off. Predictable pattern of rota, usually working 8.30-7pm. 1 in 4 weekends, with an additional day off the week beforehand and afterwards. This allows 2 x 3 day weeks, and 2 x 4 days weeks in a 4 week cycle.
Our Vision:
'To be recognised as an exceptional and trusted provider of primary veterinary care to our patients and clients within the communities that we serve. Every patient, every client, every visit'.
