Job Description
Reporting to the College President, the VPSS is the college’s Chief Student Services Officer and is a member of the President’s executive leadership team. The VPSS works collaboratively with the members of the executive leadership team in the leadership, planning, policy and budget development, and management for a comprehensive Student Services program. Working in collaboration with Academic Affairs, Finance, and Administrative Services to promote and fulfill TMCC’s Mission and Core Values, the Vice President manages a budget of nearly $14M and provides effective leadership for all Student Services at the institution. The position leads a team of 213 employees and supervises eight direct reports, including two Executive Directors – one for Student Life and one for Admissions & Enrollment Services – as well as a Director of TRIO Student Support Services, a Director of TRIO Upward Bound, and two Program Directors, one for Campus Connections and another for Jump-Start Dual Credit. The VPSS will join a growing, mission focused institution at a time of great momentum. Enrollment is climbing, student confidence is rising, and the College is experiencing an exciting period of expansion, including new athletics programming and increased student engagement.

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible administrative experience and leadership in a Student Services related discipline, including supervisory experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated experience in the following areas: enrollment management, financial aid, student conduct and disability resources, budget development and strategic planning, staff and organizational development
Desired Credentials and Experiences
Earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution in a related discipline
Excellent communicator who is collaborative and visible across campus
Experience building and maintaining great relationships with internal and external agencies
Ethical and honest leader of high integrity with an ability to bring levity and positivity
Strong, visionary leadership skills with a track record of frequent, consistent communication
Experience in a comprehensive community college with multiple campuses
Knowledge of the needs and emerging trends in community college Student Services
Experience leading empathetic, student-centered teams through clarity and accountability
Experience navigating or overseeing complex federal policy changes
Experience managing athletic budgets, teams, and departmental functions
Experience dealing with change management
Duties and Responsibilities
Serve on the President's Leadership Team and college shared-governance groups
Collaborate with Leadership Team colleagues on projects, grants, and initiatives
Lead the Student Services leadership team and chair its regular meetings
Oversee all Student Services programs, operations, policies, and procedures
Support emergency operations planning, preparedness, and student safety measures
Liaise closely with the Student Conduct Officer and VPAA about student conduct issues
Supervise and support 8 direct reports; author and deliver annual performance evaluations
Review all administrative faculty evaluations and tenure-track Counselor progress reports
Oversee the tenure application process for Counselors, in tandem with the VPAA
Work closely with Executive Directors, Directors, and HR on hiring and personnel issues
Maintain excellent relations with faculty and staff across the college and our community
Attend frequent events in support of athletics, student life, and college initiatives
Manage staff and operational budgets, purchasing, hiring, and travel expenses
Support college and programmatic accreditation efforts and professional memberships
Oversee Student Services programs and represent them to NSHE’s Student Affairs Council
Attend all Board of Regents quarterly meetings in person
Manage the Regents' Award Selection Process
Attend occasional meetings of Student Services associations, such as NASPA
Other duties as assigned

Salary and Benefits Information
Salary: $160,861 - $201,076. Initial salary placement will be dependent on education level and years of experience
