Job Summary: Maintains day-to-day supervision of a large personal care home; Responsible for interviewing, hiring, replacing, scheduling, developing, and supervising staff; Monitors and assures compliance regarding state regulations and system policies; Serves as a resource to residents and their families. Assesses residents' ability to maintain appropriate criteria; Acts as Designated responsible person in the absence of the Personal Care Manager. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Maintain day-to-day supervision of the personal care home - Supervise and oversee staff to assure day-to-day support is provided - Monitor the day-to-day support of residents to assure optimum health and safety - Monitor medication processes with Personal Care Manager - Maintain communication with residents and family members concerning resident status. Monitors and maintains compliance with state regulations and system policies - Ensures appropriate staffing ratios are maintained (scheduling) - Ensures all staff and resident files are up to date and state ready - Ensures all resident care plans are up to date and complete and resident continues to meet criteria. - Maintain awareness of any changes in state rules and regulations through association meetings/notifications. Manage staff performance - Interviewing, hiring, and setting up orientation for new staff - Identify and manage staff counseling and disciplinary actions. - Maintain staff evaluations, mid and end year. - Maintain Kronos documentation for staff attendance. Participates in New Residents processes - Assess potential residents as needed. - Assist with lease signing of new residents - Assist with orientation of new residents. - Interact with family members as needed. Required Minimum Education:
  • Associates General
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s): All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
  • Lic Practical Nurse
  • Basic Life Support or BLS - Instructor
Additional License(s) and Certification(s): LPN or 2-year Healthcare associated degree. Required Required Minimum Experience: Minimum 2 years 2-4 years experience in long term care/personal care home/senior care experience in working with Seniors in long term care setting Preferred Required Minimum Skills: Attention to detail, ability to work in a fast paced environment, must have excellent communication skills, ability to relate well with staff members, residents and family. Basic computer skills with Windows based environment for participation in training and resident documentation.
