Position Overview

At Apollo, we are building something rare: a firm where extraordinary people can do the best work of their careers and build whole careers here. We play to win, we operate with no walls, and we are uncompromising about what we expect from one another. This is a place where the best idea wins, every voice is expected to be heard, and we can count on each other in the moments that matter. That is what it means to be One Apollo. The Role

Apollo’s Global Quantitative Analytics (“GQA”) group is the quantitative engine behind Apollo Credit — an integrated platform spanning credit and prepayment modeling across 12 asset classes, derivatives risk analytics, portfolio optimization, stress testing, fixed income research, and the production systems that operationalize these capabilities across Apollo Credit, Athene, and deal teams firm-wide.

GQA is seeking an Associate or Director-level Business Manager to serve as a direct operational partner to the Head of GQA. This person will be the connective tissue of the group — driving operational execution, managing cross-functional relationships, and ensuring a complex multi-workstream organization runs efficiently. Both title levels are being considered; seniority and degree of independent ownership will reflect the candidate’s experience.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as chief of staff to the Head of GQA — managing priorities, tracking key initiatives, and translating decisions into action across GQA’s quantitative, technology, and research functions
  • Own GQA’s operating cadence — business reviews, planning cycles, and internal governance; prepare leadership materials and senior stakeholder updates
  • Act as GQA’s primary interface with Apollo’s COO, Finance, Technology, Human Capital, Legal, and Compliance functions; coordinate cross-functional workstreams and ensure GQA’s needs are understood and prioritized
  • Partner with Finance and Human Capital on headcount planning, budgeting, and compensation cycles; manage vendor relationships, data subscriptions, and operating contracts
  • Build and maintain operational reporting — headcount, project status, and platform milestones — to give leadership real-time visibility into group performance
  • Draft communications and presentations on behalf of the Head of GQA; help shape how the group’s contributions and capabilities are communicated across the firm
  • Identify and drive adoption of AI tools and workflow improvements that increase GQA’s operational efficiency; support technology investments by translating business needs into clear product requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3–12 years of experience in business management, COO, chief of staff, or operations within asset management, investment banking, or a quantitative/technology-intensive financial services environment (title — Associate or Director — will reflect seniority)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex cross-functional workstreams end-to-end with minimal oversight; strong prioritization instincts across competing stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to synthesize complex material into crisp, structured deliverables for senior investment professionals
  • High operational intelligence — organized, detail-oriented, and effective at building processes in fast-moving, high-expectation environments; strong judgment and discretion on confidential matters
  • Comfort working alongside quantitative and technical teams; genuine intellectual curiosity about how models and analytics drive investment decisions; prior experience in a quant or credit-adjacent environment is a plus
  • At Director level: demonstrated track record of directly partnering with MD/Partner-level leaders; experience owning headcount planning, budgets, and vendor relationships independently
