The below job summary and responsibilities reflects the duties of the Outdoor Lighting Representative level; the Sr. Outdoor Lighting Representative will differ as different skills and/or experience will be required. The successful candidate will be placed at a level that is commensurate with the candidate's skills and experience.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for answering and resolving community inquires by phone and in person; process new business orders, initiate inside sales for Outdoor Lighting, communicate and support other areas of Outdoor Lighting, process contract changes, analyze and correct customer bills generated by the computer, work on specialized projects, maintain a high level of knowledge regarding Outdoor Lighting marketing programs, provide exceptional customer service, dispatch and scheduling of jobs and knowledge of Microsoft office products, CSS, RPLS, Passport and DDS.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Responsible for answering and resolving community inquires by phone and in person. Handle incoming calls concerning streetlight and night watch maintenance; as well as installs and removals for cities, county, and private customers. Resolve billing and customer concerns regarding Outdoor Lighting. Explain rates, calculate credits and debts. Have the ability to handle difficult customer by phone creating a win/win situation for the community and Outdoor Lighting. Provide various correspondence upon request of the community.
  • Responsible for analyzing and correcting residential and commercial Outdoor Lighting bills generated by the computer. This person is responsible for the process and billing of Outdoor Lighting accounts.
  • Responsible of initiating sales leads for Outdoor Lighting. This includes handling and distributing possible contacts for Outdoor Lighting. Complete knowledge regarding the marketing programs offered by Outdoor Lighting and be able to communicate the benefits to the customer.
  • Office Projects/Contract Management. Responsible for the monitoring of projects from start to finish. Monitoring the flow of Outdoor Lightings contract process to ensure a timely and inaccurate process. Responsible for identifying possible process improvements.
  • Responsible for dispatching and scheduling jobs. Scheduling and dispatching of daily streetlight repairs and all relamping of streetlights for Outdoor Lighting. Provide on-going support to Outdoor Lighting crews. This may also include the utilization of Microsoft office products, RPLS, Passport, CSS and DDS.


Minimum Requirements: Representative (Pay Range: $18.70-$26.10)

  • High school Diploma
  • Two or more years post high school education
  • 2-4 years customer service experience either in person or by phone
  • Computer knowledge in Microsoft office products, CSS, DDS, RPLS and Passport

Minimum Requirements: Sr. Representative (Pay Range: $24.50-$34.30)

  • High School Diploma
  • Post high school education and/or 5 to 7 years of experience in Customer Service either by phone or in person
  • Knowledge in project management
  • Extensive computer knowledge in Microsoft office products, CSS, RPLS, Passport and DDS

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $18.70 to $34.30 per hour
