ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for the 2nd shift Operations Staff position at Century II Performing Arts and Convention Center.

Summary:

Under general supervision, performs work as needed for set-up, breakdown, and changes for events, and maintains the cleanliness of the facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Engages in the cleaning, setup, and breakdown of events within facility.

  • Follows preventive housekeeping and maintenance measures for non-mechanical aspects of the facility.

  • Practices and enforces a safe and healthy working environment by enacting ASM Global policies including VenueShield and other third-party certifications as guided by management. Strictly practice any and all guidelines issued by governmental agencies and report those who fail to adhere to expectations.

  • Assures facility readiness and smooth operations of events for first class customer service.

  • Works collaboratively with internal and external partners on the efficient execution of department responsibilities without impeding or delaying the work of others.

  • Complete maintenance forms for repairs, damages, and preventive maintenance for equipment and facility.

  • Perform various landscaping and on-site snow removal functions and duties.

  • Follow company policies and ensure utmost safety regulations, including the proper use of all chemicals by Housekeeping team members in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

  • Adheres to all ASM Global Safety Policies and Procedures while performing within all OSHA guidelines.

  • Position requires the ability to work at all ASM Global venues in Wichita and Andover.

  • Regular attendance is an essential job function.

  • Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

  • Must be able to pass background check.

  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Skills Required:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of practices and procedures related to set-up, breakdown and facility changes for events.

  • Demonstrated a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

  • Knowledge of workplace safety and OSHA requirements.

  • Meet the physical demands of the job.  Must perform strenuous physical duties at times, including lifting, carrying, moving and climbing.

  • Operate equipment such as light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, boom lifts, scrubbing machines or other light power-driven equipment.

  • Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.

  • Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.

  • Hands on experience with maintenance procedures, hand tools, and power tools.

  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment.

  • Be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.

  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Maintain a valid drivers' license or have willingness and ability to obtain for required equipment operation.

  • Ability to speak, read and write in English.

  • Willingness to work any shift or as needed (irregular hours).

Work hours are based on business needs but include irregular, extended hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
