The Associate Director (AD) EUCAN Commercial Insights Analyst is crucial in leveraging data analytics and market insights from the EUCAN Digital Twin to drive strategic business decisions within AstraZeneca. This role involves analyzing market trends, customer behaviors, and sales data to generate actionable insights that support commercial strategies and enhance overall performance.
The position holder is part of the EUCAN Center of Excellence (CoE) for Customer Engagement Data Management, Insights & Reporting team and is assigned to a defined set of EUCAN markets. Specific topics within this team’s accountability are Segmentation & Targeting, HCP Profiling, Data Analytics, Incentives, Field Force Sizing, CRM enhancement, Field management, Digital Customer Engagement deployment, CRM tools and enhancements required to successfully execute our resource allocation model.
The AD EUCAN Commercial Insights Analyst will provide data-driven insights to business decision-makers, contributing to the development of business intelligence, optimizing effectiveness, and predicting multiple business outcomes.
The role will oversee the development of analytical data solutions as part of the EUCAN Digital Twin rollout to his assigned EUCAN markets to support key business processes by identifying, analyzing, and interpreting commercial resource optimization simulations and market trends. Furthermore, it will manage the preparation and effective communication of ongoing reports and data visualizations to aid in data storytelling. The AD Commercial Insights Analyst will be responsible for influencing a range of internal stakeholders and managing Global Functions to deliver effective solutions.
Accountabilities
Resource Deployment Analysis: Assess and analyze the commercial resource deployment strategy based on EUCAN Digital Twin outcomes, ensuring that AstraZeneca optimally allocates one of its largest yearly investments – the Field Force. This will be critical to the organization’s overall success and effectiveness as part of our evolving portfolio.
Integrated Channel Strategy: Utilize analytics to navigate the myriads of new digital/ virtual channels that have emerged, ensuring an integrated approach that maximizes impact and engagement while adapting to dynamic market conditions.
Launch Support: Provide analytical support for 15+ upcoming critical launches, ensuring that insights are effectively integrated into strategies that enhance launch success and market penetration.
Trend Identification: Continuously monitor industry trends, healthcare system changes regarding reimbursement, and competitor movements to identify opportunities and challenges, providing actionable recommendations to the commercial teams of the assigned EUCAN markets.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders across various functions (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Medical) to align insights with business objectives and ensure data-driven decision-making.
Global Functions Management: Collaborate with partners in Global Functions to leverage additional resources and expertise in delivering comprehensive analytical solutions.
Data Visualization & Reporting: Co-create compelling data visualizations and reports together with markets, CoE peers and Global Functions (GIBEx, cDH, GBS) that communicate complex insights clearly and effectively to stakeholders, enabling informed strategic decisions.
Performance Monitoring: Co-create key performance indicators (KPIs) for tracking the effectiveness of commercial strategies and initiatives together with markets and Global Functions (GIBEx, cDH, GBS), providing regular updates and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Secure pull through of EUCAN Digital Twin outcomes: Act as “analytics translator” between EUCAN Digital Twin Tech &AI team and assigned EUCAN markets, securing adjustments are done and that actions on key findings are followed through.
Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
7+ years of experience in Sales Force Effectiveness, Segmentation & Targeting, Field & Digital deployment management as well as (micro-) audience-centred Omnichannel campaign design in a pharmaceutical or healthcare setting
In-depth knowledge of Commercial brand strategies, data analysis, market research, or related fields
Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, or similar), statistical software, and CRM systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey insights clearly.
Proven experience working collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-national matrix environment and with complex integrated systems, using creative and strategic thinking and stakeholder management to deliver exceptional results.
Desirable
Experience in Commercial Digital Twins or comparable Pharma Commercial Artificial Intelligence solutions in a European Data Privacy setting
Strong competencies in agile project management (SCRUM with JIRA and Confluence)
