Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring exceptional customer service is provided in a courteous manner to maintain our reputation for friendly, effective, and personalized experience;
  • Responsible for following proper receiving of Dry side deliveries both DSD and warehouse orders & enforce Company receiving policies and procedures on all incoming shipments;
  • To oversee the reclamation program;
  • To ensure the conditions and standards of the department are maintained and properly merchandised on a daily basis;
  • Create and assist with pick list and filling promotional items, planograms, out of stock scans (hole counts), price audits, cycle counts, allocating of products, price checks, price/label changes, data strip maintenance, and shelf danglers for all departments;
  • To be responsible for the proper use and operation of the computerized receiving system in accordance with Company policies, procedures and standards;
  • To assist in maintaining a clean and organized selling floor, backroom and receiving areas at all times;
  • To maintain the department in the absence of the manager;
  • To assist in the training and supervision of part time staff;
  • To ensure work is completed in accordance with safety policies and procedures; and
  • To perform other duties as assigned;

The Ideal Candidate Would Possess:

  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in the retail food industry, specifically Grocery;
  • Excellent product knowledge and exceptional familiarity with the store layout;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Excellent organizational skills, able to prioritize workload in order to meet deadlines, and able to problem solve effectively;
  • Working knowledge of computer hardware and / or software applications is essential (i.e. Telxon Pricing System and BDR) required;
  • Strong knowledge of correct receiving procedures;
  • Ability to work accurately in a fast paced environment;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; and
  • Must be flexible to work a variety of hours including, days, evening, nights and week-ends;
