PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Supports FME Canada’s mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy.  Adheres to the FME Canada’s Compliance Program, including following all regulatory and division/company policy requirements.

As a Contracts Manager for Fresenius Medical Care Canada you play an integral role in the Sales Department and are responsible for successful supervision of development, implementation and administration of contracts within FME Canada.

DUTIES / ACTIVITIES:

CUSTOMER SERVICE:

  • Responsible for driving the FME Canada culture through values and customer service standards.
  • Accountable for outstanding customer service to all external and internal customers.
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships through effective and timely communication
  • Takes initiative and action to respond, resolve and follow up regarding customer service issues with all customers in a timely manner.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Specific duties and objectives include:

  • Manages the preparation of selected bids, sales contracts, special offer letters, and related documents.  Including but not limited to supporting analysis, documentation and sales reports.  Responsible for ensuring that contracts, bids, letters and related documents are compliant with company policies and processes.
  • Responsible for overseeing all RFP responses
  • Work closely with Contract Specialist and appropriate teams when required, to identify requirements and business needs and translate those into the RFP responses
  • In conjunction with respective team members, develop a strategy for RFP preparation based upon business goals and criteria
  • For all contracts, ensures that appropriate rebate management occurs. 
  • Participates in the further development of the contract documents flow through the defined contracts management process ensuring a timely and accurate process.  
  • Proactively revises and updates processes as deemed appropriate.
  • Proactively supports sales and marketing in developing customer contract strategy based on industry knowledge, business analysis, and company objectives using analytic models and data. 
  • Works with internal customers and other business partners to communicate and implement agreement terms.
  • Implements strategies to streamline the preparation, submittal, dissemination, and administration of business information, such as contract pricing and membership, necessary to support contract business.
  • Responsible for developing and mentoring Contracts Administrators in specific areas of expertise such as trending analysis, and specific products. 
  • Develops direct reports by providing coaching, counseling and advice.  Provides feedback to employees on a consistent basis.  Works with employees to determine specific development plans and objectives to meet or exceed the standards of the department.
  • Proactively identifies and resolves contract business issue with assigned customers as necessary involving other departments such as Accounts Receivable, Technical and Customer Services, and Sales.  Builds relationships with contract customers, industry sources, and other departments to support objectives and responsibilities.
  • Manages the maintenance of complete, accurate, and up-to-date contract records, log and reports.
  • Develops and masters familiarity with the information systems utilized within the department (AX Microsoft Suite,  and Sugar/CRM used for the contract term management and quote process.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION:

Bachelors degree from an accredited university required.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Must have 5-7 years Industry experience including interpretation of contracts, regulations and rules. 
  • Must be bilingual (English/French).
  • 5+ years of management experience.
  • Strong project management expertise, combined with excellent organization, negotiation, written and oral communication skills required. 
  • Must be well-organized and able to work under pressure and remain professional at all times. 
  • Strong computer skills a must.
  • Must be able to prioritize deadlines on a consistent and timely basis.

Internal Contacts: Coordinate workflow involving Sales, Marketing, Accounts Receivable, Customer Service, Technical Service, Finance, Supply Chain

External Contacts: Some customer interaction may be required to support sales management team.
