Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. The Manager, Privacy Operations is responsible for leading operational activities for privacy and data protection compliance, including audits, monitoring, transparency reporting, responses to government inquiries, Data Subject Access Requests and other personal data remediation or data rights activities that are legally mandated or required under company policy. This role plays a critical part in managing the efficiency and reliability of privacy processes, resources, and technology to meet performance metrics and comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Support audits, inspections, and Privacy reviews or assessments by providing accurate data, documentation, and operational insights.
Lead and manage operational processes to ensure efficient, reliable, and compliant reporting, assessments, audits, incident responses, DSARs and other data requests or remediations.
Evaluate, recommend and manage software systems and other technology tools for Privacy function.
Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics, identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process optimization, cost control, and service delivery.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Operations Management, Data Sciences, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Computer Science or a related field.
Experience and Skills
Required
Typically requires at least 5 years of relevant experience in operations, information technology, compliance, quality, audit, or office, project or data management.
Demonstrated experience managing operational processes and driving performance improvements.
Facility with implementing software systems and experience as an administrator of software applications or as tech support for same.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving and presentation skills with the ability to interpret operational data and metrics.
Experience working cross‑functionally in a complex organization.
Preferred
Experience in medical device, medtech, healthcare, pharmaceutical or other industries subject to data protection or privacy laws.
Prior experience in a privacy, information systems or audit role in a global organization.
Familiarity with lean, continuous improvement, or operational excellence methodologies.
Experience supporting audits, quality systems, or compliance‑driven processes.
Experience managing budgets, forecasts, or resource planning.
Proficiency with operational reporting, dashboards, or enterprise systems (ERP).
Other
Language: English proficiency required.
Travel: Up to 10–15% domestic travel, as needed.
Certifications (preferred): Lean, Six Sigma, PMP, or equivalent operations‑related certifications.
