The Director of Transformation & Process Excellence will lead Western Union’s strategic transformation agenda by driving risk & compliance-wide process improvements, digital initiatives, and cultural change. This role will challenge the status quo, introduce new ways of working, and ensure execution of initiatives that strengthen efficiency, compliance, and customer outcomes.

Role Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership & Transformation | Partner with executive leadership to define and execute the transformation strategy aligned to Western Union’s business priorities. Act as a change agent, challenging current practices and driving adoption of new ways of working. Identify opportunities to embed digital transformation, automation, and advanced analytics into core business processes.

• Process Excellence & Continuous Improvement | Lead cross-functional initiatives to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance scalability and compliance. Apply Lean Six Sigma, Agile, and other best-practice methodologies to deliver sustainable results. Build a framework for continuous improvement across teams, ensuring initiatives link to measurable business outcomes (cost, efficiency, compliance, customer experience).

• Program & Portfolio Management | Oversee a portfolio of strategic transformation initiatives, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and value-driven delivery. Establish governance and reporting mechanisms to track progress, risks, and benefits realization. Ensure alignment between global and regional priorities.

• Stakeholder Engagement & Influence | Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team and senior leadership, providing insights, recommendations, and thought leadership. Influence and align diverse stakeholders across functions, balancing strategic goals with operational realities. Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation across the organization.

Role Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, plus 8-10 years progressive experience, or equivalent.
• Must be seasoned leader with strong business acumen, expertise in Lean Six Sigma (LSS), Agile methodologies, and program/project management (PMP).
• They must be comfortable influencing at the C-Suite level while working cross-functionally to deliver measurable impact.
