POSITION TITLE: Senior Merchandiser

LOCATION OF POSITION:  Shunde, China

REPORTING TO: Senior Merchandise Manager/ Merchandise Manager / Assistant Merchandise Manager

ABOUT YOUR ROLE:

To assist management by promptly and effectively coordinating development and pre-production activities, by deadlines set up by the business. Manage development sample from Vendor / SDC and ship on time, provide costing before the deadline together with the down team.  

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

Include but not limited to

  • Monitor daily work of junior members in the team to ensure instructions and guidelines are followed and delivered on time.
  • To collect sample order from the US or Kontoor Asia, then produce the garment sample and export to the customers.
  • Consolidate and corporate internal production and washing process to maintain good quality, and keep up with targeted lead time for all development samples.
  • Review the samples to ensure they are production-friendly in the final bulk garment maker.
  • Translate English PDM to Chinese workbook. Pass to production within standard lead time and clarify with the US if there is any discrepancy on the development sheet.
  • Work out the initial cost in each style's development stage and get closer to bulk cost.
  • Follow up the bulk standard and meet the approval deadline provided by the Kontoor Asia team.
  • Check fabric and trims inventory timely and replenish if necessary, to actual and potential need.
  • Work with the production team & washing team to achieve the requested delivery date.
  • Monitor production progress as per schedule.
  • Monitor desired/imposed quality level of produced garment by inspecting rigid before sending to laundry and checked finished garment before shipping to the US/Kontoor Aisa.
  • Provide development package to Asia team for bulk costing, and ensure PDM up to date.
  • Work out T&A for the critical sample and monitor the progress to ensure it runs as the plan.
  • Balance workload in the team in peak seasons.
  • Guide the team member who works as a partner with the best practice to improve his / her efficiency.
  • Support the supervisor/line manager with different reports, such as with PP/laser report/development tracker, etc.
  • Take the lead to work with US designers in vital development issues, including when US designers visit SDC.
  • Give strong support to supervisors and the line manager in other projects.

WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:

Include but not limited to

  • Minimum five years of relevant working experience in the garment industry.
  • Familiar with garment development and bulk production processes, be able to identify check points to ensure quality and on-time delivery.
  • Konwledge on garment, preferablely with jeanswear.
  • Strong communication skills, proactive, with problem solving skills.
  • Team spirit and can-do attitude.
  • Good command of oral and written English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, such as Word, Excel, PPT and Outlook.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • College Degree or above
