The Role

Roc Nation is looking for a highly motivated, organized, and enthusiastic individual, who is interested in learning more about the live entertainment and music industries to join Roc Nation Creative this Spring. This internship will allow students to gain first-hand experience in a variety of areas, including but not limited to executing design projects, collaborate on creative initiatives and assist with special creative projects and the day- to-day design needs of the team. The internship offers exciting hands-on experience and the opportunity to gain new skills.

Qualifications

  • You are curious, collaborative, and excited to learn new skills

  • You’re a problem solver with an instinct to think through things by making—a craftsperson who sweats the details of building high quality, elegant, and intuitive design that puts users at the center of the experience

  • Prior work experience isn't required, but you must have a portfolio that demonstrates your ability to think creatively and execute a range of design artifacts (websites, mobile apps, posters, logos, etc.). It's ok if you only have school projects to share, as long as you are prepared to describe your thought process

  • You have some proficiency with a variety of tools (Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, InVision, Zeplin, etc.) and you aren’t afraid to try new software and teach yourself new tools, digital or not

  • If you have experience with design research, content strategy or creative technology — be sure to mention it

  • You have a strong command of the English language—written, read, and spoken—and can clearly articulate the rationale behind your design decisions

Responsibilities:

  • Assist design team in asset production ranging from digital, motion graphics, branding, merchandise, etc.

  • Contribute creative efforts across all our clients (Sports, Digital, Team Roc, Distribution, etc.)

  • Develop an efficient communication process between, creative director, lead designer, and clients

Educational Points:

  • Working with a wide range of clients / deliverable types

  • Time management

  • Project management skills

  • Verbal and written communication

  • Adobe creative suite additional skills

  • Project presentation

  • Handling work critique / edits

What we’re looking for:

  • Basic understanding of Adobe Creative suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects)

  • Genuine interest in commercial arts

  • Willingness to learn

  • Organized in schedule and processes

  • Motion graphics capability highly favorable

  • Basic understanding of typography, color, and design language

  • Ability to work with direction from creative team / clients

  • Initiative to figure out creative solutions on your own if no direction is provided

This internship is available for the Spring semester. This is a non-paid internship, with flexible hours (minimum of 16 hours per week) to reflect your necessary college credit requirements.

COVID-19 vaccination series and booster shot is a mandatory requirement for this position.

Applicants for employment in the U.S. must possess work authorization which does not require sponsorship by the employer for a visa.
