Cleveland Clinic Florida is looking to add a Department Manager I to the team who will oversee St. Lucie West Medical Center along with the future Family Health Center (FHC) being built on Becker Road, with a projected opening date in 2027. The St. Lucie West location is a multi-specialty FHC attached to an Emergency Room with teams supporting all aspects of patient registration, check-in, check-out, scheduling and all associated responsibilities and tasks. In this role, you will standardize workflows to reduce barriers to achieving metrics, involve yourself in caregiver escalations and work through HR processes regarding staffing, performance and patient experience. It will be your goal to ensure that caregivers and providers have the support, tools and resources to help meet patient needs, requiring this caregiver to be emotionally intelligent, comfortable leading change and driven for results. A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday from 8:00AM – 5:00PM. Availability to virtually support teams on Saturdays and evenings will be required, as needed. 

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:   

  • Manage department operations and personnel. 

  • Complete staffing, training, workflow analysis and performance management. 

  • Manage staffing to ensure appropriate allocation and compliance with goals and objectives. 

  • Monitor quality and financial performance. 

  • Ensure compliance with government health regulations, JCAHO guidelines, quality requirements and customer service standards. 

  • Recommend enhancement and cost-saving strategies. 

  • Resolve interdepartmental issues to ensure consistency in quality, procedure and policy application. 

  • Develop, monitor and implement programs to enhance customer service, develop skills and improve scope of service. 

  • Analyze programs and make improvements. 

  • Participate in manager meetings and relevant committees as assigned by Director. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   

  • Associate’s Degree and three years of team lead, supervisor or manager experience  

  • OR High School Diploma/GED and five years of experience  

  • OR Bachelor’s Degree and one year of experience 

  

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:    

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration or a related field  

  • Healthcare experience 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
  • Ability to travel throughout the hospital system

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
