The Volunteer and Gift Shop Coordinator is responsible for the support and coordination of Volunteer Resources and Services. You will focus on creating strategies that increase active volunteer resources and positive service experience.

• Responsible for recruitment, orientation, annual training, and placement of volunteers. Responsible for tracking volunteer requirements, hours and effectiveness of volunteer schedules for gift shop, shuttle service, surgical waiting, meeter/greeter, escort, newspaper/mail delivery, vendor sales.
• Works with electronic volunteer system to manage volunteer schedule and track volunteer hours.
• Works with department managers to place volunteers throughout the hospital. Ensures volunteer are in compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory requirements.
• Compiles statistical data and prepares reports.
• Responsible for the purchasing of quality products for gift shop. Manages gift shop bookkeeping to ensure compliance with audit to include: banking, invoices, bills, credit card compliance, inventory, sales, product rotation/placement. Responsible for the revenue/expense tracking to ensure gift shop continues to provide profitable service to employees and hospital visitors/patients.
• Responsible for tracking of volunteer fundraising and giving to support mission of Tappahannock Hospital. May be asked to provide customer support to HR office as needed

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: None required. Member of Virginia Hospital and Auxiliary Volunteers preferred. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: N/A Experience REQUIRED: Experience PREFERRED: Experience with hospital or other volunteer groups highly preferred. Experience with aging population preferred. Experience as buyer or sales in giftshop setting highly desired.
