Job Description Summary

Responsible for ensuring the quality, consistency, and completeness of product definition deliverables for Combustion Gas Turbine and Aero parts across multiple engineering scopes, including New Product Introductions (NPI), New Units (NU), Pivot to Value (P2V), Fix It programs, and Reverse Engineering.
This role provides technical governance and quality assurance of PDE deliverables, including 3D models, 2D drawings, PMI definitions, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and GD&T, ensuring alignment with engineering standards and supporting manufacturability, fit, form, and function. This lead position supports PDE teams by reviewing, validating, and reinforcing product definition standard work and procedures.
The Lead Engineer works in close collaboration with Design Engineering, PDE teams, Manufacturing, and Quality within a global engineering environment, promoting the consistent application of product definition practices and translating engineering design intent into robust, producible product definitions that support program and business objectives.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide technical governance and quality assurance for Product Definition Engineering (PDE) deliverables supporting Combustion Gas Turbine and Aero parts across multiple scopes.
  • Review, validate, and approve product definition deliverables including 3D models, 2D drawings, PMI definitions, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and GD&T, ensuring alignment with engineering standards, design intent, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Ensure consistent application of product definition standard work, including drawing practices, PMI usage, GD&T application, and data quality expectations across PDE deliverables.
  • Interpret and apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5, ensuring proper clearances, fits, interface definitions, and functional requirements are met with minimal risk of escaping defects.
  • Perform peer‑check activities and support part release and engineering change documentation within GE Vernova PLM systems (e.g., Enovia / Teamcenter), as applicable.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and PDE teams to ensure product definitions accurately translate engineering design intent into robust, producible product definitions.
  • Support error prevention and First Pass Yield (FPY) improvement by identifying gaps, inconsistencies, or risks in product definition deliverables and providing clear technical feedback.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to product definition quality, standard work, checking practices, and data consistency.
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to less experienced engineers on product definition practices, GD&T application, and quality expectations.
  • Ensure technical data and documentation are complete, accurate, and compliant with applicable engineering standards and design requirements.
  • Utilize Lean tools to identify procedural gaps and support the development or update of product definition standard work.
  • Contribute to engineering initiatives focused on improving productivity and quality.
  • Work within the guidelines of applicable GE Vernova Policies & Procedures, Engineering Standards, Specifications, Government and Commercial Standards, and security classification or IP/export control requirements.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or a STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or Technical Associates degree with 10 years of relevant product definition experience.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Full understanding of Gas Turbine part definition packages, including GD&T.
  • 7+ years of relevant Product Definition experience.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience in Gas Turbine product design and processes.
  • Experience with combustion parts and technologies.
  • Experience supporting multiple NPI programs in parallel.
  • Experience working across global teams and building strong partnerships.
  • Understanding and application of Lean principles.
  • Familiarity with additional CAD software (CATIA, AutoCAD, Creo).
  • PLM experience with ENOVIA.
  • Experience driving Drawing‑to‑Model Based Product Definition initiatives.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and technical leadership skills.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and sense of urgency.
  • Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule to support urgent manufacturing needs when required.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $98,400.00 and $164,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
