OVERVIEW:

Overview

  • The Pricing Strategist is integral to the daily operations of the Pricing Strategy Department. Key responsibilities are executing and managing pricing strategies as directed by the Manager of Pricing Strategy, Senior Pricing Strategists, and business unit management in Merchandising and Planning. The strategist will use analytical and quantitative tools and methods to guide decision-making on pricing, promotions, and markdowns from pre-season through liquidation. Additionally, they will incorporate competitive analysis and consumer purchase behavior insights into their pricing recommendations.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identify, propose, and implement strategic price changes across the organization to drive incremental volume, sales, and margin.
  • Utilize various data sources (both quantitative and qualitative) to inform elasticity and P&L expectations for potential price changes.
  • Develop expertise in the Oracle Markdown Optimization tool to analyze, forecast, interpret, and execute scenarios that align with overall business objectives and manage markdowns effectively.
  • Test pricing hypotheses, measure results, and derive strategic insights and implications using Test and Learn Software.
  • Build and maintain relationships with buyers and planners.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned by the manager and director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree – Business or technical field
  • 2-5 years of cross-functional experience; retail experience desirable; previous price optimization experience preferred, but not required
  • Strong presentation & influencing skills
  • Robust story telling skills & ability to connect dots across various data points / insights
