Overview of the Department

The function forms part of Japanese Corporate Department (JCD) and is responsible to develop and maintain Japanese customer base, and to gain profits through promotion of MUFG products and services within the risk framework of the bank.

Main Purpose of the Role 

  • Responsible for JCD customer relationships.
  • Responsible for the execution administrative tasks in order to support the Department Head (DH) and Relationship Managers (RM) and Associate Relationship Managers (ARM) of Japanese Corporate Department (JCD) while ensuring and providing (internal) customer service in line with agreed procedures and service standards.
  • To own FLOD and support administrative tasks involving KYC (Know-Your-Customer) including sanction monitoring follow up, 4 eye checks and other regulatory required tasks.
  • The first point of contact for both internal and external colleagues and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • To conduct direct communication, execute the administrative tasks related to JCD clients.
  • To conduct KYC, sanction monitoring and other regulatory required tasks.
  • To ensure timely processing of reporting requirements.
  • To respond to a wide range of client enquiries by phone and/or email, resolving issues satisfactorily, referring matters to colleagues as appropriate.
  • To execute a variety of tasks and/or instructions given by DH in respect of business expansion of all MUFG group. To improve the productivity of JCD and/or other divisions of Paris Branch, in order to contribute the increase in Net Operating Profit.
  • To collaborate with other JCD members in order to meet the target and other team requirements, by harmonizing with the whole team members in JCD. Conduct communication with other departments.
  • To contribute to the completion of the team’s workload.
  • To ensure compliance with the Bank’s rules, policies, procedures and guidelines together with all relevant regulatory and statutory requirements.

Work Experience

  • A significant experience (at least 3 years) in a similar job.

Skills and Experience

Functional / Technical Competencies:

  • The function requires in depth knowledge of the (intra-) divisional workflows and processes, of the products offered by our Front Office and of the applicable internal and external legislation.
  • The function also requires knowledge and understanding/experience of/with the bank's business, policies, rules and guidelines.
  • PC skills: Windows, MS Excel (advanced skill preferred), MS Power Point, MS Word
  • Financial analysing knowledge, data-processing
  • Willingness to understanding MUFG strategies, regulations, manuals and culture
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English are essential. French and Japanese languages preferred.
