The Core Accounting Specialist is responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, and reconciling transactions. In addition to this, the Core Accounting Specialist is responsible for the correspondence and coordination with our producer and carrier partners.

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

    We are seeking a Core Accounting Specialist who will be part of the Amynta Dealer Solutions accounting team. The main duties and responsibilities include the following:

    • Applies deposits received in the appropriate accounting system.
    • Follows up on and collects past due payments from clients.
    • Works with Underwriting to issue notices of cancellation for unpaid policies.
    • Prepares and uploads necessary journal entries into the appropriate accounting system.
    • Assists with ad-hoc projects as requested by management.
    • Performs routine/basic accounting responsibilities.
    • Assist with monthly close process, including preparation and recording entries in both subledger system (MGA Systems - IMS) and Amynta’s general ledger system (Workday).
    • Flexibility to work on special projects and meet the demands of clients.
    • Works closely with Operations Manager, Accounting and Clients under immediate supervision. 
    • Reconciles various bank accounts.

    Basic and Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree (Required)
    • 1+ year’s’ working in an accounting role
    • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Required)
    • Experience with mainframe or cloud-based systems (preferred)
    • Expert project planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities in order to meet deadlines in an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities.
    • Expert mastery of the English language, both written and verbal, and ability to communicate effectively with others
    • Experience with insurance products (preferred) – Amynta Dealer Solutions team willing to train individuals with little to no insurance experience.
