Cyber Security Specialists assist customers, development organizations and third party vendors with meeting demanding and ever evolving security requirements to insure Motorola products and systems are available in the moments that matter.


Job Description

The Onsite Cyber Security Specialist will be responsible for supporting the day to day IT and Cyber related activities for a DHS customer located in the state of Florida. The Onsite Cyber Security Specialist will work closely with this customer to meet their regulatory compliance, and continuous monitoring requirements. 

  • Participation in meetings as they relate to cybersecurity
  • Provide documentation related support to include system queries and research
  • Application of Motorola Solutions FedCS supplemental hardening post upgrade for applicable assets
  • Troubleshoot and investigate cybersecurity issues real-time on the system to include scan findings, uncredentialled scan issues, compliance scan “warning” status, compliance scan failed, and “false positive” issues.
  • Application of development approved remediation's
  • Post upgrade, post move/add/change, and Ad hoc scanning of ASTRO and WAVE systems
  • Provide scan data to the Fed Cyber team to review and report on
  • Troubleshoot scanning related packet flows
  • Fulfill reporting tasks as directed by the DHS customer
  • Coordinate with contractors and entity representatives to ensure regulations and policies are adhered to
  • Communicate the resolution of cybersecurity issues and system cybersecurity status
  • Support resolution of cyber problems with Motorola field teams, Product teams, Engineering teams, and Product Services
  • Participate in regularly scheduled customer meetings with government officials and/or user groups to review and address cyber related items that surface
  • Coordinate with LMR System Manager to apply recommended Cybersecurity MTNs
  • Respond to customer and Mobile Radio (LMR) and WAVE systems administrators cyber questions and problems 
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract(s)
  • Must be willing to obtain a DHS Public Trust Clearance


Basic Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with one of the following: Cyber Security, Information systems, Land Mobile Radio, Motorola ASTRO, WAVE, Networking, Public Safety Systems, RF Systems, Radio Communications, Radio Frequency,  Motorola equipment, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, Telecommunications, Public Safety, Engineering, Networking Equipment, IP Networking, Solutions Architecture, P25, VoIP, or Military experience

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to pass a customer Security Clearance Investigation
