Continuous Improvement Lead

SUMMARY

Part of the IDEX Corporation, Precision Polymer Engineering (PPE LLC) is a manufacturer and supplier of high performance, niche elastomer seals used in critical applications around the globe. PURPOSE OF ROLE:

The Continuous Improvement (CI) Lead will proactively identify opportunities to eliminate waste, reduce variation, and improve productivity in manufacturing, while facilitating kaizen events with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of CI principles into product and process design. This position is ideal for a hands-on problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about building sustainable systems that support innovation and growth. This role is primarily day shift, with occasional off‑hours support during critical production needs.

REPORTS TO:

Continuous Improvement Manager

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring processes, equipment, and daily practices meet safety standards
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve production workflows, reduce costs, and increase throughput
  • Serve as a coach and mentor with all business stakeholders to build a continuous improvement environment to support an ongoing change to improve culture
  • Develop and optimize plant layouts, material flow, and workstation design for maximum efficiency
  • Support the delivery of better value and greater efficiency through the identification and elimination of unnecessary complexity within the business processes.
  • Promote, educate, and lead team members in lean tools, such as Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, SMED, 5S, Flow, Rapid Problem Solving, Total Productive Maintenance, Built in Quality, etc.
  • Facilitate by identification, coaching and training the reduction of the 7(+1) wastes
  • Work cross‑functionally with production, engineering, quality, and planning to resolve issues and improve productivity
  • Use data analysis and statistical methods to identify trends and prioritize improvement opportunities
  • Break process‑development work into scoped projects; establish resources, timelines, and milestones
  • Communicate project status clearly to internal stakeholders
  • Recommend and implement process improvements based on data and observations on the manufacturing floor
  • Review production data for accuracy and completeness
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Associates degree
  • 2+ years of demonstrated use of CI methodologies in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with statistical process control or similar data‑driven methodologies
  • Firm understanding of Microsoft Office, including extensive experience with excel
  • Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) preferred
