Position Summary...

Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales. Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities. Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.

What you'll do...

About Team:
Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization.

What you'll do:

  • Own production incidents/issues and respond promptly to L1 pager issues 24 x 7.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot system stability and performance impacting issues.
  • Application support for a wide range of operational issues related to users or objects on the system
  • Support critical SLAs in liaison with Control Room along with other operational teams.
  • Work on low-medium priority tickets by partnering with engineering or users and escalate to L2 where appropriate.
  • Apply standard procedures and use standard tools to build, test and deploy schema changes, assign roles to users and performance tuning enhancements.
  • Adhere to change control process using Change Management platform eg., ServiceNow and Jira.
  • Provide weekly report of completed Service Requests, Pages, Issues/Incidents 
  • Review trends on issues and highlight areas of opportunity that need to be worked in joint between L1 and L2 resources.
  • Work with distributed teams in a collaborative and productive manner
  • Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • You must be willing to be part of a team that supports 24x7 on rotation basis.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's Computer Science or related streams with 4 to 7 years’ experience in industry
  • Good communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • General knowledge of database or data warehouse concepts.
  • Experience in managing Datawarehouse operations in GCP BigQuery and Teradata.
  • Experience in GCP cloud environment.
  • Experience in one or more scripting languages including Shell, Python and Perl.
  • Understanding of Linux OS Commands, Network protocols and usage of system diagnostic tools.
  • Good knowledge on Workflow scheduling tool Airflow, Concord and GitHub
  • Ability to adhere to documented standards and processes and provide progress updates for assigned work or incidents.
  • A self-motivated learner and builder with strong customer focus and obsession with quality.
