Ogallala Community Hospital is looking for a per diem Medical Imaging Intern. This position is per diem with no benefits or guaranteed hours. A current Nebraska Medical Radiographer temporary license is required.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position typically will be up to one year in length and will work under the direct supervision of a department manager or designee. The position is responsible for expanding experiences and knowledge of practices and procedures as they relate to assigned department and area of study. These activities may include participation in a wide variety of procedures and/or exams.

CORE FUNCTIONS

1. Responsible for quality performance of radiologic procedures to obtain data used in diagnosis and treatment of the patient in a timely, courteous, and cost—effective manner.  This is done under the supervision of a Radiology Technologist.

 

2. Expands and develops knowledge with exposure to a variety of roles related to Radiology.

 

3. Participates on work teams, contributes to projects and initiatives, and performs various tasks as needed by the assigned unit/department.

 

4. Performs other tasks and responsibilities as outlined by the immediate supervisor.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Wyoming: Current Wyoming Radiologic Technologist special license is required. Special license fee is paid by facility. 

Nebraska: Current Nebraska Medical Radiographer temporary license is required.

Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers is required.

Completion of one year of an accredited Radiology Technologist program is required. Currently enrolled in an accredited college program with course work related to the internship or general knowledge normally obtained through the completion of a college degree. Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills. Must have general knowledge related to the department/unit/area of study. Age specific competencies:  Neo-natal, toddler, preschool, school, adolescent, young adult, mid adult, older adult.
