As a Director RN Clinical Services - you will be responsible for providing the day to day Clinical Leadership for multiple Banner Medical Group sites, this will include providing oversight for scope of practice, professional growth & development and other facets of clinical care. In addition you will provide direction and clinical oversight for clinical services staff through process such as onboarding, training, mentoring, and performance reporting.
Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00AM-5:00PM
Location: This position will support East valley & South East Valley Banner Medical Group locations including San Tan, Mesa, Gilbert, Casa Grande among others.
Required Qualifications:
POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides clinical oversight and direction to Medical Group clinical staff. This position ensures the ambulatory clinical standards are developed, implemented and continuously evaluated to ensure safe, efficient, and effective patient care. This includes partnering with medical leaders, operational leaders, and corporate services leaders to design and implement industry leadership standardization of care.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Provides direction and clinical oversight for clinical services staff through process such as onboarding, training, mentoring, and performance reporting. Assures that clinical staff are meeting requirements for clinical competencies through annual and ongoing evaluations and training. Works with practice managers, executive directors, division medial directors and other stakeholders to achieve staff competencies and evaluation.
2. Participates in development and implementation of clinical standards to ensure that the organizational ambulatory work environment and culture supports clinical staff to excel in the performance of their roles, provide quality patient care and ensure patient safety throughout the organization.
3. Evaluates and monitors clinical performance effectiveness using standardized process, clinical outcomes, and performance management tool. This includes incorporating resources to implement standards supporting the continuum of clinical care and associated standard operating model.
4. Leads and demonstrates patient safety values of transparency, candor, non-punitive environment, and informed and data driven approach to reporting, improvements, learning, and growth by using both proactive and retrospective actions to improve the environment and culture of safety.
5. Possess a working knowledge of regulatory standards that impact the operations of the clinic and clinic process. Demonstrates the ability to interpret standards to stakeholders, coach to maintain compliance, and establish regular survey readiness.
6. Participates as a subject-matter expert and resource at local, regional and system level. Engages with clinical staff as an expert and participate on workgroups, teams, and/or councils to implement and coordinate programs, services, and/or activities for the organization. Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards.
7. Evaluates, intervenes, and monitors outcomes, uses reports and data to takes actions to improve staff competencies, patient safety, outcomes, and processes. Uses communication skills to clearly articulate ideas and concepts in a support of just culture principles.
8. Demonstrates an understanding of key organization strategies and initiatives and ensures resources and programs are aligned accordingly in a highly matrixed environment. Maintains key stakeholder involvement in development and sustainability of clinical and business processes for the ambulatory setting. Provides all customers of Banner Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day. Manages and/or coordinates the work of others. This includes performing recruitment, selection, training, and evaluation efforts. Also includes the coordination and facilitation of work through other key stakeholders and partners.
9. This position provides oversight to the medical group’s clinical staff competencies and standard of care operating model(s). Position maintains accountabilities toward achieving and maintaining system strategies, initiatives and operations as they relate to the ambulatory care model(s). Problems are complex in nature, requiring an advanced understanding of ambulatory care operations and measures. Establishes and promotes teamwork and collaboration between individuals, departments, and the entire organization in the development of system-wide standards and targets. Customers are primarily internal (includes leaders and staff across the organization).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess strong knowledge as normally obtained through the completion of a Master’s degree in Nursing or related field or equivalent combination of relevant education, technical, business and healthcare experience typically achieved in 6 years.
Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice.
Five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in a clinical care setting, including performing at a lead/consultative role within an integrated health care/ambulatory system setting, or large multi-operational corporate healthcare environment. Proven track record of driving successful performance outcomes in a highly matrixed setting. Experience anticipating and responding to the needs of internal and external customers. Skilled in building partnerships with management, staff, and stakeholders to achieve department goals and objectives; managing problems and situations where uncertainty is inherent; developing strong, enduring, and trusting relationships; fostering the development of cohesive teams; persuading others to adopt a particular stance on an issue; developing and evaluating best practices and emerging trends for organizational applicability and appropriateness; implementing solutions for complex and varying problems and situations while considering the larger perspective or context.
