Lending at Valon

Valon is scaling up its mortgage lending business, which aims to provide Valon homeowners the ability to access low-cost, streamlined mortgage loans and give Valon partners tools they need to retain customers. As a member of the Lending Department, you will make it faster, easier, and cheaper for homeowners to get loans by reinventing the homeowner’s journey. We are looking for experienced and innovative individuals who are eager to transform the mortgage industry for the better by building our team and business.

About this Role

We’re seeking a Producing Sales Manager to provide loan solutions for existing and prospective customers of Valon Mortgage. This individual will be responsible for managing a team of Consumer Direct Mortgage Loan Officers while also maintaining an individual pipeline. The ideal candidate embraces the player-coach mentality, helping team members to deliver great results while modeling excellence as an individual contributor.

Location: Onsite (Our office located in Phoenix, AZ)

Responsibilities

  • Manage and empower a team of MLOs to meet production targets.
  • Proactively train the team on relevant procedures and requirements.
  • Review team’s performance by listening to calls and reviewing loan files and other borrower communications.
  • Recommend loan solutions to our servicing portfolio—and other prospective customers sourced through strategic initiatives.
  • Manage customer pipeline to meet required pull-through ratios.
  • Collect and analyze customer financial documentation as required by investors.

Ideal Background

  • Bachelor’s degree—or equivalent work experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal regulations (e.g. RESPA, TILA, ECOA, TRID, CFPB).
  • Thorough understanding of the underwriting process and agency and investor requirements.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of mortgage originations experience.
  • 5+ years of management experience.
  • 3+ years of consumer direct mortgage experience.
  • Previous experience with relevant technology (e.g. DU, LP, Encompass, CRMs).
  • Active MLO state licenses in NMLS.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain MLO state licenses throughout tenure with the company.
