Position Summary...
What you'll do...
The Software Engineer III will work collaboratively across multiple IT functions, employees, and vendors to ensure that IT operations for cloud and on-premise voice and contact center infrastructures are reliable and scalable.
Responsibilities:
Plan and implement programs to enable global voice and contact center infrastructures to operate effectively and scale reliably.
Ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement for VoIP and Contact Center Operations through IT Services Management processes and procedures.
Collaborate with other engineering teams, including offshore associates, on assigned projects by providing documents, direction, and feedback; identify solutions and timelines; review and provide feedback for proposed solutions; and perform design and code reviews.
Troubleshoot business and production issues by gathering information, engaging support teams, formulating action plans, interpreting results, performing root cause analyses, and completing online documentation.
Respond to user questions, concerns, and issues; identify solutions; facilitate resolutions; and lead cross-functional partnerships.
Lead the discovery phase of projects by reviewing requirements, translating them into technical solutions, gathering information, developing code, conducting unit testing, communicating status and issues, collaborating with teams, troubleshooting issues, ensuring on-time delivery, and providing leadership.
Monitor and provide operational support for Cisco Unified Communication and Oracle systems, including telecommunications circuits, LAN/WAN systems, routers, switches, firewalls, VoIP systems, servers, storage, backup, operating systems, and core applications.
Perform basic systems testing and operational tasks (e.g., installing patches, network connectivity testing, script execution).
Perform capacity planning through ongoing monitoring, alerting, and reporting of resource utilization levels.
Develop and report trends in hardware and application performance to assist senior technical personnel in predicting future issues or outages.
Work with internal and external technical and service teams to create and update knowledge base articles and runbooks to improve operational support.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field plus 2 years of experience in software engineering or related experience; OR
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field plus 5 years of experience in software engineering or related experience.
Skills Required:
Experience with Splunk, Elasticsearch, Prometheus, Grafana
Proficiency in Java
Expertise in metrics, dashboards, monitoring and alerting, data stores
Knowledge of Cisco Intersight, Cisco Prime Collaboration, AppDynamics, Oracle Enterprise Operations Monitor, VMware vRealize Operations, Cisco CVP, VMware
Proactive monitoring/remediation
ServiceNow integration

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
