About the Role:

We’re looking for a passionate and detail-oriented individual to help us build scalable, performant, and developer-friendly frontend solutions. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with designers, developers from multiple product teams, and accessibility experts to create reusable components and patterns that ensure quality and consistency across Elsevier’s digital ecosystem.

Strong attention to detail and a user-centric approach, you think beyond the UI and consider accessibility, maintainability, and long-term value
Proven experience developing web applications with React (and Next.js).
Expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern frontend development best practices
Deep understanding of performance optimization techniques such as code-splitting, lazy loading, minimizing bundle size, and optimizing rendering
Familiarity with modern bundlers like Webpack or Vite, and experience working with shared UI components/libraries
Experience building accessible web interfaces that adhere to WCAG guidelines
Solid knowledge of testing best practices, including unit testing (Jest, Mocha), component testing (Testing Library), and end-to-end testing (Cypress, Playwright)
Knowledge of version control systems like Git and branching strategies (e.g., GitFlow)
Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices, and containerized environments and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
