The Finance Accounts Supervisor is one of the points of contact for accounting and finance needs of the firm. This role will prepare and/or review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for accuracy and completion. This position reports to the Assistant Controller and supervises one staff member. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills to manage large amounts of data, be a problem solver, able to identify areas of improvement along with providing suggested solutions.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Perform assigned monthly closing process in a timely fashion and ensure accuracy under US GAAP
  • Construct, manage and review monthly journal entries prepared by other team members
  • Partner with other department team leads to record financial activities and respond to inquiries
  • Prepare and/or review balance sheet reconciliations
  • Research reconciling items and communicate with appropriate personnel the steps necessary to clear reconciliations
  • Complete a financial statement analytics and provide reports as needed to support departmental needs
  • Review financial statement reports for distribution to budget holders, facilitate meetings to discuss financial results, cost analyses and provide recommendations
  • Develop strong cross-functional relationships with budget holders to assemble and assist with preparation of budgets and projections
  • Partner with Finance Systems Team to manage systems and improve workflows
  • Manage employee performance and provide coaching/training
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports and analysis as required
  • Approve and oversee the creation of new general ledger accounts
  • Assist with year end and tax audits
  • Support all day-to-day accounting functions and special projects

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Experience in Accounting and Financial reporting software. 3e, Chrome River, Onestream is a plus
  • Advance in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Good interpersonal communication skills and work well with stakeholders
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong work ethic and eagerness to produce high quality results

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required
  • 7-10+ years in Accounting with 3 years supervisory experience

HOURS

Core hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Must be flexible to work additional hours.

The annualized salary range for this position is $102,000 to $125,000 depending on the candidate's overall experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full time employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus. In addition, full time employees as well as some part time employees, will be eligible for the firm’s fringe benefits as they currently exists.
