Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector has a need for a Staff Systems Engineer at its Subsystem and Software Sustainment (S&SS) organization in Warner Robins, GA. This engineering position is for a role on our Systems Engineering Team. In this role you will be supporting Electronic Warfare and Radar Development programs. Our ideal candidate will possess technical expertise, a drive to lead from where you are, collaborative people skills, and the proven ability to work within a technically diverse and fast-paced team. This position is in Warner Robins, GA and requires that you work on-site daily.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for team-related issues and provide regular progress updates, risks and blockers to senior management.

  • Coordinate the workload and assignments of a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring efficient execution of engineering tasks.

  • Maintain a backlog of tasks and set team priorities in a manner consistent with the program development schedule.

  • Lead integration and testing of sophisticated Electronic Warfare and Radar systems, including both hardware and software components in development and production environments.

  • Manage system and sub-system level specifications and ensure verification traceability (tracing requirements to test plans/procedures/results).

  • Provide integration laboratory support for software release testing.

  • Review and evaluate test requirements to ensure completeness of test program.

Basic Qualifications:  

  • Minimum of 12 years of direct relevant experience with B.S degree; Minimum of 10 years of direct relevant experience with Master’s degree; Minimum of 8 years of direct relevant experience with PhD.

  • Experience leading engineering projects and tasking of team members.

  • Experience interfacing with customers and/or stakeholders.

  • Experience in development, integration and testing of large-scale systems.

  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex HW/SW integration problems.

  • Thorough understanding of Radar or EW principles.

  • Experience with MATLAB or equivalent programming/analysis languages.

  • Experience with lab test equipment such as function generator, oscilloscope, multi-meter, spectrum analyzers, etc.

  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level security clearance.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior professional experience either in Radar or Electronic Warfare, or prior professional experience in immediately transferrable domain skills such as digital signal processing, digital beamforming, adaptive processing, or tracking algorithms.

  • Experience developing system simulation frameworks, performance models and algorithms, threat models, and command and control models.

  • Experience with deriving system/software requirements and developing test plans and procedures.

  • Experience in aviation and/or Department of Defense programs.

  • Proficient with RF test equipment.

  • Experience with EW software, systems and testing.

  • Experience testing software and/or systems.

  • Experience with Hardware in the Loop testing.

  • Experience using Jira/Bitbucket/Git.

  • Electrical/Systems Engineering Degree

Salary Range: $147,700.00 - $221,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
