Responsibilities 

 

Oaktree is seeking a 2028 undergraduate to spend 10 weeks within the Real Estate Debt team. Summer Interns will have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of real estate transactions for Oaktree's Real Estate strategies. This summer program will be based in Oaktree’s downtown Los Angeles headquarters.  

  

Typical investment opportunities include:  

  • New loan originations across all CRE product types;  

  • Acquisitions of legacy loans, CMBS and other forms of public and private debt;  

  • Restructurings;  

  • Recapitalizations.   

  

The Interns will participate in a formal modeling and valuation training curriculum in addition to real estate investing trainings. Throughout the summer, Interns will shadow Analyst and Associate team members in the group with primary responsibilities to include:  

  • Financial analysis and modeling;  

  • Market research;  

  • Competitive analysis;  

  • Development of investment committee memoranda;  

  • Assistance in the due diligence and execution of transactions;  

  • Drafting of memoranda for internal and external use  

 

Qualifications 

  • Outstanding financial modeling, analytical and presentation skills;  

  • Competency in financial statement analysis, business valuation, accounting and finance;  

  • Prior internship in financial services strongly preferred.

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from a top university or college. 

 

Summer Stipend 
 

$43/hour
